Are we talking about the same place?! I have never stayed in such a filthy hovel purporting to be a guest house. One room was so disgusting that one of our party booked into nearby George Hotel-which WAS superb. My "quaint" room had rubbish piled above it. The place is a potential death trap if ever there were a fire....

We are obviously mortified that this lady can hold these views about our Bed and Breakfast. Church Gates is a clean, attractive and safe establishment - read all our other TA reviews to find out. Look at the numerous clear photographs on our web site. Church Gates has been inspected and approved by the Environmental Health Department of Tunbridge Wells...

Well, we've just got back home from a wondeful short break to the garden of england - Kent. We chose Church Gates B&B from the website - Purple Roofs - the reviews were completely accurate as were the photos - such a charming little place. The B&B was full of love and character. Our hosts, Joe and David (and Tilly)...

My partner and I have just spend the most amazing 8 days and nights at Church Gates, Cranbrook. Having not booked in advance, we regard us as really lucky people to come to Church Gates by wonderful chance. We couldn't have had better hosts than Joe and David and no greater place to stay. The minute we passed the doorstep...

You could stay in places with more "amenities" perhaps, but NEVER will you find hosts more lovely, kind, friendly, and welcoming than Joe and David. We were blessed to have begun our first trip to the UK with 5 nights at Church Gates, and were so appreciative of all the advice, directions, and practical help we received from our hosts....

My husband and I and our 11 year old stayed at Church Gates for 3 nights in late April and we would really recommend it. The rooms are just fantastic ( if you appreciate character and aren't looking for a sterile hotel environment) and I loved the outlook to the church. There are good places to eat right on your...

We loved this place and will return one day. Beautifully situated in charming town of Cranbrook with restaurants a few paces away. A garden lover's haven. Outlook onto the church, with plants clustered round the front door in welcome. Charming hosts, characterful accomodation, first class breakfast. Joe gave spot on advice about the local gardens to visit and we loved...

My hubby and I spent 3 nights here and had a nice relaxing time. Joe makes great pancakes at breakfast, so nice we had then every day and he gave us the recipe to try at home too. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable, the ensuite bathroom has a huge roll top bath and hand held shower. Friendly hosts...

I have been a guest at Church Gates for six summers, beginning in 2002, and I plan to keep returning. I tell my friends, who now join me there, that I know that my summer vacation has really begun when I arrive at the door of Church Gates and see Joe's welcoming smile! Joe and Dave are wonderful hosts and,...
