Wonderful hosts, Sean and Corinna and a beautiful setting. The Garden House was very clean, very homely and stocked with breakfast bits and a loaf of Sean's home-made bread each morning. A range of local walks and excellent pubs. Highly recommended!

My wife and I spent a blissful, child-free weekend at Godwin House in January. We stayed in the garden cottage which was superb - spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, with a roomy bathroom, a great serve-yourself breakfast which included home made bread and delicious home-made marmalade, and very comfortable bed. It's situated in a lovely corner of Kent, ideal for exploring...

Visited Godwin House at the beginning of October with friends. All of us felt that we had made a good choice. The two rooms were contrasting but both excellent in their own way. We were in the Oast House which had lots of character and history which Sean described very interestingly when we arrived. Our friends were in the Garden...

We recently returned from 4 nights and this lovely country B&B, staying in the garden cottage room. We were welcomed with tea and cake in the stunning garden and an offer to book us a local recommended pub for food that night. The place is astonishingly well equipped with every last detail thought through. Great selection of teas and cafetiere...

We came to Kent for a short break and booked the Oast House for our accommodation. It is a great place to sleep, decorated great and the owners are a wonderful couple. We were greeted upon arrival and were shown the Oast house. It is nothing we had ever seen or slept in before... It turned out to be a...

We had a lovely weekend away staying in the Oast House which is a integral part of the history of the area. Sean and Corina were wonderful hosts providing freshly baked bread each morning. The garden is beautiful and the area very pleasant for walks.

I recently stayed for 2 nights in the lovely Garden Room at Godwin House with my mother. The room is very comfortable, full of character and excellent attention to detail. There were fresh flowers on the table, super-comfy beds and a spacious and cosily warm bathroom. The breakfast was delicioius and we were very impressed with the home-made marmalade and...

Sean and Corinna were wonderful hosts. They are both a very welcoming and interesting couple. Their B&B is unlike anywhere else we have stayed - we loved it! We would happily recommend and go back ourselves. The attention to detail, homemade marmalade, freshly baked milk bread (v delicious!) and interior decoration in the Oast House makes it a unique experience....

We spent a lovely night in the Oast House which was beautiful, and very cosy. It was also surprisingly easy to find, even though we weren't familiar with the area. Sean was a wonderful host, and even told us all about the history of their beautiful property. Definitely recommended!

We had a lovely time staying in the Oast House. It happened to be a wild and windy weekend weather wise, but the Oast was warm and comfortable. Sean and Corinna were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
You are invited to bed and breakfast at our Tudor home in the heart of the Weald of Kent. Godwin House, is an Elizabethan farmhouse built in 1580 and, set in lovely grounds minutes from ancient Cranbrook and Sissinghurst. You can choose between two luxurious en suite rooms - stylish Garden Cottage or our beautiful, unique Oast House, the oldest in England, a 16th Century building rebuilt in 1740. Garden Cottage with its peg tiled roof and weatherboarding is pure Kentish style. Exposed beams and antique furniture create a welcoming and interesting space, relaxing and private. Godwin’s Oast House is special. There’s nowhere like it. You are in the heart of Kent’s history and rural life but with en-suite comfort, fine furnishings, king sized sleigh bed and mod cons. Breakfast is the best of local produce with home baked bread fresh on the day served in our Tudor Morning Room in the house overlooking the views in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. ... more   less
