We loved the oast house decor and Sean and Corinna's beautiful tranquil garden. Thank you for a very confortable stay in every way! Would definately visit again if in the area. Also close to some good pubs, we especially liked The Three Chimneys, and local family attractions.

Lovely setting and privacy with all comforts. We were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. Nice touches like flowers on the table, linen napkins, homemade marmalade and good coffee. Easy to find; peaceful location and helpful hosts for local tips. Very relaxing and highly recommended.

A really special romantic getaway in the Kent countryside, which more than matched up to the description and photos. We particularly loved the well thought out breakfast which included homemade marmalade...a really lovely touch. It is well located for Sissinghurst Castle, which we visited, and also for sampling some of the many excellent local restaurants and gastropubs in the area....

We arrived last-minute at Godwin House and without a booking. Regardless, the proprietor Sean fitted us in with good humour and little effort, all the while providing helpful information about sites to visit and eats in the area. The self-contained accomodation was a lovely mixture of rustic charm and modern convenience, and breakfast was sensational, including home-made bread! We couldn't...

We hugely enjoyed our two days in Sean and Corinna's beautiful and elegant cottage. Thank you for the homemade bread, tipsy marmalade and charcuterie breakfast. You are the most thoughtful and generous hosts and we very much appreciated the taxi service option on Friday night. Thank you both for making everything so special.

Wonderful hosts, Sean and Corinna and a beautiful setting. The Garden House was very clean, very homely and stocked with breakfast bits and a loaf of Sean's home-made bread each morning. A range of local walks and excellent pubs. Highly recommended!

My wife and I spent a blissful, child-free weekend at Godwin House in January. We stayed in the garden cottage which was superb - spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, with a roomy bathroom, a great serve-yourself breakfast which included home made bread and delicious home-made marmalade, and very comfortable bed. It's situated in a lovely corner of Kent, ideal for exploring...

Visited Godwin House at the beginning of October with friends. All of us felt that we had made a good choice. The two rooms were contrasting but both excellent in their own way. We were in the Oast House which had lots of character and history which Sean described very interestingly when we arrived. Our friends were in the Garden...

We recently returned from 4 nights and this lovely country B&B, staying in the garden cottage room. We were welcomed with tea and cake in the stunning garden and an offer to book us a local recommended pub for food that night. The place is astonishingly well equipped with every last detail thought through. Great selection of teas and cafetiere...

We came to Kent for a short break and booked the Oast House for our accommodation. It is a great place to sleep, decorated great and the owners are a wonderful couple. We were greeted upon arrival and were shown the Oast house. It is nothing we had ever seen or slept in before... It turned out to be a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
You are invited to bed and breakfast at our Tudor home in the heart of the Weald of Kent. Godwin House, is an Elizabethan farmhouse built in 1580 and, set in lovely grounds minutes from ancient Cranbrook and Sissinghurst. You can choose between two luxurious en suite rooms - stylish Garden Cottage or our beautiful, unique Oast House, the oldest in England, a 16th Century building rebuilt in 1740. Garden Cottage with its peg tiled roof and weatherboarding is pure Kentish style. Exposed beams and antique furniture create a welcoming and interesting space, relaxing and private. Godwin’s Oast House is special. There’s nowhere like it. You are in the heart of Kent’s history and rural life but with en-suite comfort, fine furnishings, king sized sleigh bed and mod cons. Breakfast is the best of local produce with home baked bread fresh on the day served in our Tudor Morning Room in the house overlooking the views in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. ... more   less
