This is a pleasant family run hotel situated down a very quiet lane. I had been warned that the main house was full and would be in the annex and as is was only for one night I didn't mind. The room was fairly small with a single bed and a sort of cabin for a shower room/ toilet, again...

Beautiful location but quite honestly I don't think the owners have any idea on running a restaurant. Have been on Sunday lunch and a very limited menu, 4 main courses only. Food was ok but only really pub grub. Opening times seem to be to suit the owners not the customers they now don't open weekday lunchtimes. In this position...

We are really disappointed with your review. I am not sure why you think that we don't know what we are doing! We are a successful hotel and bistro and the business has virtually doubled over the past year. A business decision was taken not to open during lunchtimes Monday to Thursday - this is an informed decision which is...

Thought to pop in on a Friday Lunchtime. Not open and a sign advising any Hotel guests that they cannot check-in until 16:00 - glad that was not me. It never seems to be open, we went elsewhere! Shame, because its a great setting.

On the Friday you came down, yes we were closed for lunch. I was collecting my husband from hospital following an operation the previous day. The sign did indeed advise that check in was not until 4pm - this is our usual check in time, so please do not feel pity for our guests. Our opening times are clearly displayed...

Unfortunately our booking was confused with a bigger party who took over the whole venue. The rooms had a few cobwebs and our bathroom was a wet room that wasn't very nice. But we slept well and had a very nice breakfast. You can see the personal touches the venue is trying to achieve.

I stayed at this hotel recently after having confirmed a late job and needed somewhere to sleep. This hotel was the cheapest hotel on laterooms, and to be honest I wasn't expecting much from it. Upon arrival, The hotel is set in excellent scenic grounds, and is a quaint old fashioned B&B and restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable and...

Our main reason for selecting LHM was the key promoted benefit of the quiet and peaceful surrounding. Well, though indeed idyllically situated, here are our observations on a SUNDAY morning: - the ventilator in the bathroom was loud and kept running for a long time after lights off - the toilet loudly refills for about 5 minutes after every flush...

Thank you for sharing your experience of The Mill. From what I can pick up in between the things completely out of our control, is that you had a good night's sleep in a clean and comfortable room. You are staying in a budget hotel close to Stansted which is both reflected in the price and the amenities. There are...

Lodged here on business trips, regularly during late summer. So much better than the big chain establishments in the vicinity. To be fair to the owners and to prospective customers, it should be pointed out that the hotel is "work in progress". The rooms are clean and presentable but are a little tired. Although, this is steadily being rectified as...

Wow! Spent two truly wonderful nights at this fantastic Mill, set in stunningly beautiful countryside with a canal running through. The lovely couple, Miranda and Richard who run this beautiful Hotel, were extremely friendly, sociable, attentive..... the perfect hosts. Who I noticed treated all their guests with the same attentiveness, making everyone was happy, content..... The bar staff were also...

Nice setting, good food, but slow/inexperienced service and out of some things, which was apparently due to busyness (beautiful weather). Would suggest better preparation: more knowledgeable/experienced staff and all food/drink items on hand. Would definitely give them another shot!

Dear Brian Many thanks for visiting the Mill and I am sorry to read your feedback. We are very fortunate, as you know to be in such a beautiful location, close to the River Stort and in grade II listed water mill which does attract lots of guests and customers during the week and weekend. This weekend just gone in...
