My husband and I bought a last minute Groupon deal (not often you can buy one the day before you stay) for a night away R&R. From the beginning when I booked via the hotel, the receptionist was wonderfully accommodating. I explained that we would be arriving too late for the afternoon tea and she ensured that when we arrived... More

We stayed at the hotel to cut down our journey to Legoland. The staff were very welcoming and went to a lot of trouble to ensure we had everything we needed. Although there wasn't a lift there also wasn't a shortage of staff to take our bags to our room. The room was very big and perfect for a family... More

Visited as we had received a Buy a Gift voucher. We decided to go to Thorpe Park and this was the nearest place to stay. Staff really friendly and helpful. Room was nice and big and clean but just had a damp smell. Breakfast was good.Very close to the town which was lovely too.

Visually the hotel is unappealing externally or internally - it's shabby outside and a bizarre ill-considered hodge podge of decor and paintings internally. The staff were helpful and friendly, welcoming us into the very hot hotel - a delight for some, an airless cauldron for me. Our room was small but okay once we'd climbed all the way to the... More

Found the place to be out dated. But it was a cute place. Our room was quite big, and very clean. Loved the bathroom, it seemed much more modern. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Only downfall was the temperature of the hotel. It was so cold!

A group of four of us went to,this hotel on a Groupon offer..what fantastic value! The hotel is. A great mix of old world with modern amenities, but no lift. Some refurbishment is underway, but this didn't affect us, other than to enjoy the lovely new soft carpet in our bedroom!! It is only a 10-15minute walk to the High... More

We booked this room very last minute as we had a groupon voucher that was expiring. The double room was spacious, comfortable and clean - perfect. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming! The breakfast was tasty and they catered for our specific needs - wheat free and dairy free...! The location is very ideal, right by the high street... More

We booked this through a hotel price comparison site. Pros: well built, old work charm, decent bar and friendly staff Cons: slow service, rooms need modernising and food could be better Overall we got a good deal so can't really comparing. However now the Premier Inn has opened on the Fleet Road there's no compelling reason to stay here over... More
