Those people taking children with allergies please beware. The allergy list is incorrect. Please double check any food with the chef whatever it says on the allergy list. The item I looked at said no egg or nuts, when I checked it was in a factory with nuts and the sausages contained egg!!

We decided to go as a weekend break. It's in a fantastic location in the Forest of Dean. Pitches are hard standing with electric, no drainage or water but the points are very close. Downside is virtually no tv signal or mobile signal! Take dvds! Great swimming pool, two jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Pool is warm and in the price....

6 of us stayed in a 8 berth log cabin on the edge of a pond and the break was outstanding. Facilities, entertainment, location, and wildlife were brilliant. We attended the Friday night cabaret and the food was great and the entertainment was very good. We visited the nearby Woodmans pub and Lydney Steam Railway. The only disappointment was the...

We caravanned here for 3 nights. Grounds were unbelievable and picturesque. Lots of space. Plenty of different types of accommodations from camping in tennis to, glamping in megapodes or family pods to apartments and even a bungalow. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a shop restaurant and 2 bars. Some entertainment and a pool with jacuzzi. Nearly forgot there...

Hired a campervan for the weekend and chose Whitemead due to its close proximity to where we live & also the facilities (swimming pool , restaurant, bar). Can honestly say everything was faultless - check in (even though hubby checked in before me & so I didnt experience the whole check in), cleanliness of site, toilet/shower blocks, playground, location, children's...

This was our 5th visit to Whitemead, and the first since the refurb. The apartments are now as good as new, and the range of activities broader than we could remember. It's smaller than say Centre parcs but considerably better value and has a lovely, smart family feel. You can tell it's run by an upmarket not-for-profit organisation. Particular recommendations:...

We have been regular visitors to Whitemead for about 20 years. We were there last week, staying in a Woodland Lodge. The location is fantastic, being in the forest itself, wonderful wildlife and birdsong. The staff are very friendly, and the food we had in the newly re-vamped cafe/restaurant area was good, and reasonably priced. However, we feel that the...

Lunch was at best only average and warm rather than hot. Ordered drinks but twenty minutes later and half way through our lunch, we had to ask where our drinks had got to (this also happened on a previous visit). A further 10 minutes later our drinks finally arrived! Too few staff, trying to cope with busy lunch period. Overall...

We are a family of 3 who has previously been to Whitemead a number of occasions as campers in a tent. We haven't been for 3 years and thought we would try the Mega pod. This was great for us, a double bed, double bed settee - not great on comfort but better than camping! It had everything we needed,...

Absolutely loved staying on this site (tourer) Great facilities, immaculate showers and fantastic swimming pool. Club house has a good range of family entertainment and activities for all age ranges. Restaurant serves good value for money food and has a wide variety to choose from. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely company from fellow tourers.

Dear guest, thank you for your positive comments regarding Whitemead, I was the show host/DJ on duty on the weekend in question and fully understand your comments regarding the type of music we played over the weekend. To explain why we played the 'cheesy' party music after the acts finished on both nights.

After the quality acts we had on both nights had finished their shows, I did start playing the 'middle of the road' songs such as Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and other popular songs to get people dancing and to provide a varied mixture of songs. No one was dancing and after about 30 minutes of playing these songs people were were just hand tapping to the music, On both evenings one of the guests requested some party songs including Macarena and Cha Cha Slide etc. As soon as I played the first one, around 20 people got up and danced to all of them. Looking back on this weekend we have 2 family groups that danced to all these songs but not the middle of the road songs, so to keep them entertained, I did play the party songs for them on both nights and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It is sometimes a balancing act to ensure we entertain all of our guests by playing a selection of music for everyone which we endeavour to do, having tried on both evenings to play the general songs with no one dancing, I did revert to the party music as requested by guests. I do always ask for music requests and would have been happy to play any requests for your favourite songs.

Having looked back at the digital playlist for the weekend which records the music we played, the song you mentioned above (Cha Cha Slide) in particular was played at 7.50 and again 10.50 approximately on each of the nights. We have a policy of playing songs a maximum of twice on each evening to avoid over playing of certain songs. We do record our playlists to comply with the Performing Rights Society. We also use the new large screen to give our guests an interactive experience and to dance along to with both dance routines and music video's for an enhanced visual experience.

We do strive to continually improve the entertainment for all of our guests and we do value your comments and will use these to further improve our service, many thanks. Paul (Polo) DJ/ show host.
