16/9/2015 - Excellent meal, excellent service - very friendly. Really could not fault one thing. Oysters; Scallops with rhubarb and crispy black pudding (these were to die for!), Halibut with fennel, tomato and potato; Old Passage fish soup and Monkfish in Parma ham with brown shrimp and butter. All amazing.....and accompanied by very quaffable house wines. Been before and will...

Went to the Old Passage for Sunday lunch today with the wife. We both had the tasting menu, what a meal, absolutely delicious and could not fault it. Friendly staff, great position, it is one of the great understated restaurants if you are a fan of fish. The position on the river is a beautiful setting and well worth the...

Booked a table for our wedding anniversary as we (wrongly) thought this would be a 'special' restaurant. Lovely sunny evening so we were seated on the veranda for aperitifs with views of the river - so far so good. TWENTY minutes later the waiter came to take our drinks order - other diners who arrived after us already had their...

This is my second review for The Old Passage but I feel that I must write again and ring its praises. Other reviewers complain of the prices but it is a case of 'you get what you pay for'. It is not your local little fish& chip cafe - it is one of the best restaurants in Gloucestershire, and I...

We had a groupon code so we only paid half price for the taster dinner menu - I'm glad that we went as the food was great. However I'm equally glad we didn't pay full price as the price tag (at full price) didn't match the food served. As an example, one oyster for the first taster - really just...

Not only is this restaurant in a beautiful location, but in my humble opinion it's one of the very best fish restaurants I've ever visited. The food & bar I'll start by saying, wow..!! The food was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection, everyone commented how superb their selection was - the chef is a genius! The menu is well...

Had lunch today with my wife and 2 very good fiends and opted for the 6 course taster menu. The welcome on arrival was very warm and we had a table in a window area with lovely views. Each course was delightfully presented and had excellent fresh ingredients. We could not fault the food, wine and service and will certainly...

Friends who live locally suggested we all had lunch at the Old Passage Inn on a beautiful January day when the sun was shining, but the wind was chill. The tide on the River Severn was coming in and the river was flowing up stream when we arrived. During lunch it was high tide as we watched as the flow...

My wife was given a Travelzoo voucher for two for the taster menu. We enjoyed a delicious meal with good table service. The taster menu comprises six small courses including half lobster each. All were well cooked & presented. The voucher was good value compared to normal £60 each. Restaurant is a bit out in the sticks & the wine...
