A lovely place finished to a very high standard and lovely and peaceful of an evening. A really nice breakfast in the golf club next door and far enough outside of Chelmsford to feel you are almost in the country. Tried it once and just booked some more, represents great value!

Conceived as an out of town hotel and to provide accommodation for those who marry in the unique surroundings of Channels it was good to read in this very kind review that the Lodge had excelled on both counts. I hope, therefore, that we may again welcome our guests free next time from the responsibilities of parents of the bride....

We stayed in the Birch Suite. It was lovely and attention to detail was not lost on us. Spotless and luxurious with added thoughtful additions - clothes brush, dressing gown, shoe horn, coffee pot etc. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept very well. It was very quiet and the calm beautiful surroundings were just what we needed. The...

Albeit a short stay, I appreciated every aspect of what Channels have put together on this estate. The rooms are big & cosy. Restaurant/bar is better than most in Chelmsford. I/we will go back for sure

From the first welcome at Reception to the breakfast the next morning it was clear that the staff had one aim - to make one's stay there as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Thank you. An excellent comfortable and quiet room (very well equipped with everything from fridge to umbrella) with en suite bathroom. Great breakfast. When next in the...

My husband and I stayed here overnight after celebrating our friend's 60th birthday. We stayed in the Pine bedroom which was very nice with an ensuite shower, mini-bar, iron & board. The food at the party (3 course meal) and breakfast in the morning were both really good. The staff were excellent! Overall, a great stay - would definitely recommend...

It is a relatively small number of guests who, having enjoyed their stay, take the time and trouble to put their thoughts in writing. I should like, therefore, to return the compliment by recording my thanks to this reviewer for the kind things she has to say not only about Channels Lodge but the team who make it possible. Just stayed here the one night for my partners birthday over the weekend to go to the races. The grounds are beautiful and the room was lovely. Reception staff were very friendly and breakfast was great. Could not have wished for a better stay away.

Stayed one night on a business trip and found from the initial welcome to the excellent accommodation that this was a place that valued quality and customer service. Large comfy bed and walk in wet room made this a comfortable and enjoyable stop over. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
