Coming from a county with so many fine hostelries the kind words and recommendation of Mr and Mrs Brown are praise indeed and I hope that we may soon have the pleasure of welcoming them again to Channels Lodge. Simon Larner

Stayed here for 1 night for meeting family. Beautiful rooms, beautiful settings. Staff were all polite from check in to bar/restaurant. Breakfast had a decent selection of fruits and cereal with corked breakfast to order. Only downside was we only managed to stay for a night but we will definitely return

Wow this place truly took my breathe away. So close to giving it 5stars. We were upgraded to the birch suite which was amazing, so spacious! (Watch your head on entering the room) We loved the old beams, old windows/shutters and wooden floor boards! My favourite part was the free standing bath! We also appreciated the small things - Costa...

It is always gratifying to receive a good notice and helpful too if, at the same time, it points to areas that may be in need of care and attention. I should like, therefore, to thank our reviewer whom we hope soon to welcome back if only to show that we take notice of any shortcomings and endeavour to correct...

Another fabulous stay at Channels Lodge on a recent trip to Essex for work. As ever the room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the clubhouse was delicious. Add to that the stunning, peaceful location so close to Chelmsford and I can't think of a reason to stay anywhere else.

While this very kind review suggests that a stay at Channels Lodge is a great way to start the New Year, our resolution for 2017 must be to ensure that it is a great way to start each and every day. Simon Larner

Wonderfully friendly....when we arrived no booking was there for us as had booked for the day before by mistake....! This was no problem and still accommodated us at no extra charge. Stunning place and extremely comfortable.....Highly recommended and 10 mins from Chelmsford city Centre. A great end to our Roadtrip....

Stopped in one of the new rooms, extremely well equipt, very comfortable bed, and a bathroom you could only dream about or see in a magazine, always a very welcoming reception on arrival. Set in the middle of a golf course, so quiet with great countryside surroundings

It is more than usually gratifying that our 400th review should be such a good one coming as it does after only ten years of operation. It is important too that it should concern our newest rooms and to know that they incorporate those amenities that our guests most appreciate. Simon Larner

A very high standard of room with super comfy beds you don't want to get out of in the morning. Very friendly staff that will go the extra mile for you. Have stayed many times and prefer it to anything around for miles.

If we were in any doubt that this is the season of goodwill reading this very kind review of Channels Lodge would very soon have dispelled it. And coming, as it does, from a guest who has stayed with us on a weekly basis for the last five years it is more than usually welcome and very much appreciated. Simon...

This is, of course, the season for parties and so some noise at this time of year is not peculiar to Channels Lodge. That being said, moving furniture late at night should not have occurred and I have taken steps to ensure that it is not repeated. In the meantime, please accept my sincere apologies and in view of the...
