I spent a blissfully comfortable night in Pauline's elegant and cosy house. Single room, single bed (yes, they can be comfortable) , a shared large bathroom. And a grand cooked breakfast with apple puree, and locally baked sourdough bread. I'm looking for an excuse to return to Ticehurst.

Pauline Willis used to run Woodbine House (http://woodbinehouse.net/) on the other side of the lane. Her new property is a cosy cottage, recently refurbished. My single bed was comfortable and the room beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious: she offered seasonal stewed plums with organic yoghurt, as well as a good fry-up. The cottage is in the centre of the village,...

I placed a colleague who came from overseas here and she was absolutely knocked sideways. She says they have nothing like it where she's from (in Scandinavia). She's vegetarian and had a terrific slap-up veggie breakfast, was able to make use of the wi-fi (why do hotels charge for wi-fi, when good B&Bs don't) and wanted the recipes for all...

We staying at Woodbine House on Saturday night for a wedding at Swallows Oast. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone doing the same, mainly because of Pauline, the owner, who was a delight. We nipped in to drop our bags off in between the service and reception and Pauline made us a lovely pot of tea and showed us...

Wow what a Fantastic little Twitten with a fabulous house. Peace and quiet. Exquisit courtyard garden with relaxing sun chairs to sit and listen to the birds & tricale from the gardens pound. Everything was top quality. A great stay & makes you feel like you are at home.Didn't want to leave. The only downside is the chimming clocks which...

We stayed here for a wedding at Swallows Oast. The B&B is very quaint and pretty, the rooms very comfortable and the breakfast absolutely top notch with local produce and homemade jams etc. The only reason I am marking it down and not giving 5 stars is that the rooms are not ensuite and we only had a tiny mirror...

The property looks fabulous in the charming village of Ticehurst, however the rooms were cold (as the heating was turned off at 9pm) and there was a scramble to get to the bathroom every morning as the hot water ran out before all the guests had been able to wash. Not what you expect from a place which charges top...

We stayed at Woodbine House for two nights either side of a wedding. Although we chose it because it was within easy walk of the wedding venue (Swallow's Oast), the place itself was reason enough to stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the shower was one of the best I've ever had and the breakfast was sensational (the...

Early June 2010 we just happened to come through Ticehurst and the local Butcher pointed out this B&B. As we roam G.B. and France during the summer months (both of us are retired and enjoy touring in our classic open two-seater) we have been able to compile an impressive list of of wonderful experiences; however, our stay at The Woodbine...
