My friends and I wanted a home for our new Bridge Club each week. As we live in the village of Burwash, we asked Kevin the Manager at the Bear if we could play somewhere in the pub. He organised a room with beautiful views and agreed to store our equipment. We were overwhelmed by the response we received for...

Reasonably priced, friendly staff, decent breakfasts and comfortable overnight accommodation. The room was comfortable and once again I thought the breakfast was very good. Lovely view of the sunrise just before our rashers.

I wanted a quick lunch so went for their wild boar pate. The pate tasted OK, but was oddly encased in some flaccid pastry, and the toast served with it was from bog-standard white sliced bread. Just not good enough. Note - I am rating this as a restaurant, not a hotel.

Full of young noisy, swearing people, an absolutely awful place in such a lovely part of the world, the only other choice in the village is the rose and Crown hidden down a little track, take my advice and stay well clear of this place, it really is that bad.

Motel has lovely big clean rooms in annexe but it needs a lot of updating. Need new mattress and have to get rid of mould in shower. We discovered when leaving that the glass sliding door can't lock. We appreciated the wonderful location and views from here. Free Parking and welcome tray with tea, coffee etc was a welcome addition....
