Been here a couple of times as it's cheap! Uses this place for a room only, you pay cheap prices, don't expect grandeur!! What it is, is a place to stay slap bang in the middle of battle, location is excellent, that's why we use it, lovely Thai restaurant next door and the local pubs are friendly and welcoming. If...

Mind you: this is a hostel and not a hotel in my opinion. Don't book it for a romantic get-a-way or similar. Having said that, rooms are spacious and clean(ish). Staff is on site, yet not very welcoming or particularly kind. Bed is comfortable, shower hot with mediocre water pressure. I like having a iron and ironing board in the...

My husband booked a couple of nights at the George so we could explore the surroundings and I have to say it was a perfect choice. We stayed with our 7 year old son and it had everything we needed. Granted it doesn't have breakfast facilities but opposite the hotel and along the high street are a number of really...

Much the same as other reviews really. Nothing fancy but the room we had (rm 19 attic) was clean and the bedding was clean and crisp. Hotel is old and it's age shows. If your tall mind your head on low beams. Didn't see any disabled access, whilst the spiral staircase has character, it leans in a bit and seemed...

Price is Cheap. But it's not really cheerful. Virtually no service on reception. Came quickly once rang for but got the feeling I was keeping him from something more important. There is no in house option for eating breakfast. The decor is tired and just about clean. There is no room "air conditioning". There is a thermostat on the wall....

Don't expect anything fancy. You have to ring for the desk attendant, but he comes quickly. Very old building, and it kind of shows it. Very convenient, though, as it's only about a city block from the battle ground and interpretive centre. Also has a separately-run Italian bistro restaurant on the ground floor; quite good.

What a great hotel. Staff friendly and attentive. Rooms always clean, comfortable and warm. Four poster beds are extremely inviting. Have stayed several times will go back many more. Ideally located for Battle attractions. Although they do not serve good there are numerous establishments within walking distance.

I needed a room urgently in Battle for two nights which brought me here. It cost only £74 and was on the High Street. There ends the good points. There was no reception, just a telephone and an easily accessible box of keys plus cooking fat smells from the restaurant next door. This is not really a hotel, more a...

You have to enter round the back of Simply Italian and when you enter its like a ghost town. There was no one on reception, it's not even a proper reception area. You have to ring an extension and it took me three attempts to eventually speak to someone who said they were in the laundry room and would be...

Booked through a different website. Wished I'd checked the reviews on TripAdvisor first. What a dump. Firstly good points, well yes there were a couple. It's a good location, but there is other accommodation in Battle with equally good location, and the room was a nice size. We were lucky to find someone on the front desk, who was polite...
