A traditional inn with exposed stone walls and large inglenook fire place. We have used this inn quite a few times and always found the food excellent with friendly staff. If you appreciate good pub food you will appreciate this venue

I booked 1 week in advance but upon arrival was told that there was no booking and was treated very badly by the landlady, she was off hand and very disinterested, only when I showed the reciept for the deposit did she acknowledge that there may have been a mix up their end. after being told to fill out a... The Bull Inn is a joy. Built from the original stones from Battle Abbey, it is everything you hope to find in an English inn - low beams, authentic features, with a feel of antiquity that gives you an experience of it's historic past. The owners are very extremely pleasant and clearly enjoy their work . THE BREAKFAST WAS THE... More

The pub is in a wonderful, old building, but I was afraid the decor would be old fashioned (think 1980s not 1680s) but that wasn't the case at all. Our room was really attractive, with exposed brickwork, a wrought-iron bedstead, and we didn't hear any noise from the pub, even though it was a Saturday night. The people who work... More

After reading the other reviews on here we were a bit apprehensive about the breakfast (full English or nothing!?) but either the others were unlucky, or The Bull have got their act together big time since those reviews. My gf's continental breakfast was excellent - croissants with 3 very good cheeses (obviously chosen by someone who knows a thing or... More

A group of us stayed for the weekend. The day we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The Saturday breakfast was not good. There was no choice, full English or nothing. The toast came in pieces & was impossible to butter. We were out all day & on our return the landlady was very hostile towards... More

We have just spent the weekend in the lovely town of Battle and I'm sorry to say it wasn't the case for our accomodation due to the poor host, who was not at all friendly towards our walking group of 10 adults in anyway !! The bar staff were very friendly and helpful and its a such a shame that... More

We booked into The Bull Inn after visiting the Abbey and battlefield. We were warmly welcomed, even though the bar was pretty busy and got to see the room before we booked in. After the flea-ridden room we'd ended up in the night before (sight unseen), this was much appreciated. Our room at The Bull was lovely and we both... More

We enjoyed four nights at The Bull Inn where the staff and owners were very friendly and made us most welcome. The food, especially the breakfasts, was excellent and we would thoroughly recommend a stay. We hope to return one day.

Nice B & B with downstairs pub. Food is good. Breakfast is excellent, possibly the biggest you will see. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. The pub is located in the middle of the high street.so it is ideal for everything.

“The hotel is a very old building. Not a problem for us, but expect an old staircase to the rooms. Our room was at the front of the hotel and as there was no double glazing, there was traffic noise. Again, we were okay with this, but others may want to request a quieter room if available.”
