The only decent person here was the bloke that guided us to our pitch on arrival (the caretaker) As for the others hanging around in the check in office (the owners / family and friends ) they were so rude, unhelpful and thought they were better than other people. Only stayed for the 3 nights as already paid online otherwise would have walked out. . Rediculous rules. Boring place. They think they are doing people a favour letting them stay there. .
Booked a 4 day pre Xmas stay in one of their sea view lodges. Nice lodge , great sea view, handily placed for trips to Southwold , Aldeburgh and cliff top walk to Thorpeness. Almost on the beach , ideal for walking the dog. Had a few problems on arrival with the heating and TV signal ( not anyone’s fault as the lodge was a last minute switch ). Heating was sorted almost straight away plus a plumber was sent next day. We were given an electric heater just in case and offered a new lodge if we wanted. An external supplier also came in to sort the TV issue virtually within hours. Even though the problems were sorted quickly they still offered a couple of free days extra to our stay. Completely unnecessary but what a great touch. To cap it all , did a couple of hours fishing ( about 70 yards from lodge ) and actually caught a few! Bonus! Many thanks Beachview , above and beyond service, have a great Xmas! …
Just returned from four nights in the caravan at Beachview. Site is tidy and well maintained. Not the most spacious of pitches but not too bad and I had really nice neighbour's to chat to. A nice, simple, very clean and covid safe, not busy, bar to grab a drink in with view over the sea. Now.. the warden, he is by far the best warden I have ever come across in all my caravaning years. He is super friendly, chatty, a smiling face, and super helpful. He helped me reverse my caravan in, not my strength for sure. If I could score the warden he would get 15 out of 10. Will certainly be back, loved walking along the beach with the dog.
Arrived on the 17th Sept. and everything seemed like visiting an old friend, site in the pristene condition as usual, and with facilities closed offered every feeling of safety in the current covid situation. Met by probably the most pleasant and helpful "Warden"to be be found on any caravan site, directed to our full service pitch, although not one we had asked for in the comment box on the website, but I guess not his fault as he was probably not aware. Site a good example of being laid back but with enough enforced rules to keep it as most people would want it. All in all as good as ever, left on the 23rd and will visit again. AES.
Beach View does what it says in it's title and provides a gorgeousbeach right by the campsite. Less than 30 seconds from our caravan pitch we were on the beach and could hear the waves crashing as we went to sleep. There's not really much more you can ask for. It's a duney pebble beach and if you can muster the energy to wake early, has the most incredible sunrise. Friendly staff, a good location to visit Southwold and the surrounding areas and just in general a lovely holiday spot. Amenities closed due to covid but we were advised in advance and there was no problem. If you take bikes, you can cycle down to the Thorpeness and it's a lovely track by the sea. We'll be back!
