We stayed for a night at this hotel last year in one of the lodge rooms with a hot tub. The Covid restrictions had only recently lifted so the hotel wasn't full and we got the full attention of the staff, but no doubt they always give such a high level of service! The room was clean and well kept with a huge bathroom, however the bath was leaking so we reported it and they attempted to fix it immediately and offered use of another bath which was unexpected, and a bottle of prosecco was left in our room. The hot tub and surrounding areas were very well kept. We had dinner at the restaurant which was outstanding, some of the best food I've had and the service was very efficient. This was a great hotel, I'd definitely not hesitate to come back!

I won't go into lots of detail - as it has all been said before. This hotel was excellent from start to finish. We arrived and were greeted by the hotel's owner who showed us around, to our room, carried our luggage and explained the history of the hotel. He was very concerned that we were comfortable and provided top-notch service. In fact all the staff provided top notch service - he has a really great team there. Also, they have got the COVID measures just right with a one-way system and hand sanitiser points dotted around the property. We ate in the resturaunt both nights and the food was fantastic. The chef knows what they are doing and again - the service was great. The food was fine-dining without being pretentious. The room was nice - classic in style, without being too old-fashioned. We had a four poster room which was of good size and my wife particuarly liked the claw foot bath! Warm and cosy, and quiet as well. We booked this as a bit of a pre-Christmas treat to escape COVID for a bit! We were not dissapointed.

Meal was ok. Have had better for the value. Staff very attentive. Lovely surroundings and hotel clean and well maintained. The only grumble I had was part of the main meal with the potatoes, they were either cooked in lamb fat or in an oven with lamb. They were very unpleasant tasting and for somebody who has a dislike to lamb was extremely disappointed to have left what was the bulk of my main meal. Other than that a pleasant experience had.

Once again a fantastic stay, very safe hotel, one way system in place but no problem, once again the owner greeted us I the car park, with a warm welcome, all staff are very attentive at all times, afternoon tea delicious, evening meal excellent, once again the owner on hand to explain and describe the menu before making a choice, canapés in the bar along with a nice glass of wine set us up for a lovely evening, the whole team cannot do enough, lovely breakfast finished off a great stay, needless to say we have already booked to stay again, treat yourselves to a wonderful stay. Thanks to all the team.

I have not written a review for a years now but feel compelled to on this occasion. The Beechwood hotel is first class, from Management to all staff (particularly Jess), and the quality of the food. We returned yesterday from a 3 night break. Value was excellent. We stayed in Room 3 which is one of the 4 poster rooms with en suite and a large stand alone bathtub. Breakfast is fantastic but the evening meals are of excellent. The husband and wife team that run this independent hotel go out of their way to ensure you have an exceptional time and believe me, we did. The Dinner B&B rate is superb value so we will be back.
