When struggling to find sonewhere to eat, we managed to get in at the lawns. The hotel and bar area was ok and the food menu looked promising. Although expensive when viewing the menu, i dont mind paying if the food is nice. The food served however was very dissappointing. I paid over £4.00 for what was essentially a deep fried ball of shredded potatoe with no flavour. To be honest it felt a bit of a rip off. Im not one to usually complain, but i felt the food did not meet the expectation when paying what we paid. Its a shame but would not visit again.

Booked into The Lawns as appeared to be the best hotel in the town. When booked appeared that all rooms either overlooked the garden or the school over the road. So a bit disappointing that our Room(6) maybe was the only room that was over the outside storage area and the car park. So at least I could keep an eye on my car each night. So that’s my winge for the review. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Lawns. From the welcome on check in to our departing breakfast was all so enjoyable. Relaxed atmosphere in the bar with good interaction with the locals and tasty evening meals. The team in the bar and dining were a joy to watch and kept us well fed and watered ( and entertained) Well done Poppy (?) and the whole gang. Excellent location for visiting north Norfolk coast. Photos at Holkham Hall, get there early!

Just returned from a 4 night stay. The breakfast was very good and we had dinner 3 nights and that was very good, staff are friendly and accommodating. We picked a garden room mainly because the other rooms in hotel didn’t have a walk in shower but the flow of water wasn’t great which for a 4 star hotel isn’t good. The lighting in the room is terrible very dark definitely needs updating as does the shower the gardens are lovely shame dog owners don’t pick up after their pets management might like to put up a notice, overall had a nice stay

Recently had a 2 night stay at the Lawns. Having read previous reviews on this site regarding the hotel we were a little concerned. However on arrival we found staff to be friendly & professional, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 1 which was clean & functional, and had everything we needed for our stay. Food was excellent and very enjoyable. At breakfast juice wasn't on display but on asking this was provided. The only tea I drink is earl grey again on request this was provided.Given the current situation we find ourselves in asking for certain requirements is fully acceptable. Staff worked very hard to ensure current covid rules were adhered too and that all the varied guests needs were met. Lovely Hotel and great staff team. We will definitely be returning

Stayed at The Lawns for one night to celebrate our anniversary. Paid extra for a superior room, and for £173, were expecting something special. The hotel garden was lovely, and great for an afternoon drink. One of the team (young blonde waitress) was really friendly and professional, the rest, while not unfriendly, appeared disinterested. We had Room 1 which was large but tired, stains on the pillows and bedding, as well as lots of hairs around. Was expecting better in the current situation. Nothing luxurious at all, although the bed (once cleared of hair) was very comfortable. This room overlooks the garden and was incredibly noisy from bar noise until 1am. Breakfast was very good, although hearing another guest return their toast because it had mould on it was a bit off putting! All in all it was just ok. For the money we’d paid, and the information on the website, we were expecting a better experience (and nights sleep!). Wouldn’t return unfortunately.
