I stayed at this hotel to break my journey to North Norfolk after visiting Bressingham Museum and Thetford. The Hotel has added a sizeable Marquee to create more outdoor space and I found that the Hotel has taken its Social Distancing requirements very seriously. A work able one way system was in place and even with various tables and chairs removed the hotel still felt warm and inviting. I ate at the restaurant and was very pleased with my choices The bar was well stocked and priced reasonably . The Continental breakfast currently being often was very generous in its number of options and I found the old style glass bottles for fruit juice and milk lovely. The hotel is situated on the junction of two roads so a pleasant walk out of one door into Town brings you neatly back to the Hotel's other door via the Towns famous lake. All in all a great stop.…
Evening meal with family. Waited an hour for food. Noisy beyond belief. Local youths who obviously know the staff not challenged about their blatant disregard for social distancing rules Not asked if we wanted more drinks at any stage. No discernible manager on duty. Food was ok but overpriced. Won't be going back.
2 night stay. Room was large, bed comfortable, super efficient shower. Centrally placed. Noisy traffic. Breakfast was Covid restricted so nothing cooked but Continental style was more than adequate. The menu was short (good), simple choices, served in good time by lovely staff. A fan was provided in a near hopeless attempt to cool the room down as there isn’t AC.
We stayed in a large garden room, infant it's more of a suite. Lovely comfortable bed, well furnished. All expected amenities in the room were there baring a mini fridge which would've been a welcome addition. Unfortunately the lovely large bath couldn't be filled and had to be used as a shower only. The breakfast was outstanding, lovely fresh good quality food. Delicious coffee in abundance and as much toast as we wanted. My partner and I both felt our stay surpassed our expectations and we would happily stay again when we're in the area.
We had a funeral to go to in the afternoon and did not want to dive home after. We stayed over night. The evening meal was very good. We ate it in the bar are as was not very full. The beer was well chilled and pineapple was first class.
