My husband and I stopped over to this old home on our way to the Biltmore in Asheville, NC. The accommodations were modest but very nice -- and the history of the home was remarkable. Our hosts were Nancy and Stan with Bailey their dog. Nancy's family has owned the home almost since it was built if I'm remembering correctly.... More

Our visit to the Bailey House could not been better. We have two sons and our family loves to travel and learn anything about the civil war. Nancy and Stan were such gracious hosts and Nancy provided us with a great tour of the home and lots of wonderful stories and new facts about US Grant we did not know... More

We had a wonderful visit from beginning to end. Nancy, Stan, Bailey the dog, and two cats made us feel right at home. We were treated with great stories on the history of the area. The room was beautiful and breakfast was superb! We will definitely go back!

What a wonderful respite on our business trip.! The Bailey House B&B is a lovely antebellum home just across the street from Ulysses S. Grant's childhood home. Only about an hour away from Cincinnati, it was like stepping back in time but with all the current amenities. The Bailey House has been in the innkeeper's family since being purchased from... More

Bailey House B&B is a beautifully kept antebellum home that is been in the same family for three generations since they purchased it from Dr. Bailey. Your hostess is a wealth of information on President U. S. Grant and so is her husband. President Grant grew up right down the street and his childhood home is now a museum. Grant... More

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Bailey House Bed and Breakfast and had a wonderful time. Nancy is a terrific host. We enjoyed having coffee each morning with her and getting to know her and the history of the house and the Grant House. We were also treated to a private tour of the Grant home, Nancy... More

The host were wonderful and breakfast was good. The private side tour of the Grant boyhood home was a nice extra. House is full of antiques, mostly heirlooms. The only downside was, having booked for 2 nights, had to leave after 1 due to the pet odor.

Thank for bringing the problem of pet odor to our attention. We did not realize it was a problem, and it is now corrected. Thank you for your comments. More

Take a step back in history for a reasonable rate! Nancy and Stan are delightful and very knowledgeable about the area. The home has been in the family for years and is furnished with quite a few family pieces. Was pleasantly surprised to find a blow dryer in the bathroom and ironing board/iron in the closet. Breakfast was delicious! Apple... More

I stayed for three days and was treated like family. Nancy is a wonderful host. I appreciated the tour of her home which has been in the family for more than 100 years. You can walk downtown (only a couple of blocks). I recommend Rockin on Main for a lunch or dinner. Popular with the locals and the home style... More

We had to do a long drive from IL to MD and decided to make an adventure of where we would spend the night midway. Our first hotel fell flat, but the Bailey House made up for it twice over! The house is in a tiny town without much there other than an adorable town center. The house though is... More
