We stayed three nights bed and breakfast and after dinner the first night ate there every evening. Had a lovely weekend away with our over friendly dog!!!!! Staff were really friendly, both dinner,breakfast and the beer were excellent. Really enjoyed our stay and a great base for visiting the area.

We stayed two nights here in one of the luxurious barn rooms. Everything was first class huge comfortable bed and great bathroom. Popular pub with good ales, wines and spirits. Rooms are typical pub accommodation with good sized comfy beds. Very clean with tea coffee and a couple of biscuits. The barn rooms are very modern and spacious. The landlord, landlady and the staff were excellent. Helpful and chatty and so we're the locals. Don't forget to eat here as well. Excellent...

This is what an English country pub is all about .very well presented rooms clean and with all the amenities you need .good wholesome food and friendly service .perfect place if you are exploring the lakes. Fine breakfast ,parking ,its all there .

This was a great place for a short break. We stayed 3 nights in a barn room which was absolutely lovely. It had a great big, king-sized bed which was super comfy. Situated at the southern end of the lake district this charming village pub lives up to its reputation for food, beer and hospitality. The accomdation in the pub, there is a converted barn as well, is homely and comfortable above all it was quiet. Food on the mother's day was excellent we had eight different vegetables between our two meals....

we only stopped for one night, just a couple of miles from J36 on the M6 but it could have been a world away, great place, lovely beer and food , nothing too much trouble for the staff and great breakfast. plenty of parking to the rear of the hotel , although the pub is on the main street there...
