The hotel is in a challenging environment and strikes me as a ski resort. Given the summer temps are around 5 degrees Celsius or 40 Fahrenheit, and winter is sub zero, this is understandable. Internet connection is great. TV is not. Views of the harbor are fantastic. Given that most of the food has to be imported by ship, it...

Considering the price the rooms are a bit too basic. That said you are at the top of the world in a lunar environment therefore I guess there's not much more that you could get. On the contrary the restaurant is very nice with good local food. Personnel was very kind in recommending day trips and booking on our behalf....

I would stay here again - great location, wonderful destination, great staff, superb breakfast. However, I found it unusual that there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom other than a bath gel dispenser in the shower. (or so I thought" As I looked for some in the bathroom, I notice the sign on the back of the bathroom...

Quite nice hotel, fairly average and no sense of community or atmosphere. Rooms are very similar and bland, there is no history or any information about Svalbard and wildlife. Would appreciate better service, breakfast is as you would expect from a Radisson.

Svalbard is a real must see place. Amazing scenery, unspoilt beauty and lovely people. I visited in May during the midnight sun which is a very odd but wonderful experience. The staff were good, especially the barmen, only complaint being the receptionist who checked me in was very unfriendly and didn't seem to know what she was doing and tried...

If you like to stay in good hotel on Spitsbergen you should consider Radisson Blue Polar Hotel in Longyearbyen. It is located close the "main" shopping street. Rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is also OK.

We stayed here for a long weekend in April as the midnight-sun entered Svalbard. We had a Junior suite that was spacious and well equiped with minibar, refrigerator and a nespresso machine. Nice and renovated bathroom. The hotel also have a nice dining room where also breakfast is served. It's a beautiful view over the Advent Fjord. The small bar...

The hotel has a good location, although pretty much everything in Longyearbyen is close to anything in town. My room was ok, nothing special but with good beds. Breakfast was pretty much the same as you'll find in most of the Radisson chains hotels. They have a baggage storage room (unmanned) which is nice if you're staying after checkout or...

Stayed here for one night (Basecamp was full) and I was disappointed in the rooms. Not that there was anything really wrong it was just a standard pre-feb building aith a standard room and poor sound insulation (we could hear the people upstairs when they were walking around. Basically, you could have been anywhere in this room and I was...
