I booked this hotel based on other reviews I had red saying how decent a property it was in comparison to others. The room I stayed in was fresh, comfortable and quite newly fitted out. The bathroom as great and the comprehensive toiletries kit was a nice touch (even a disposable razor there should someone have forgotten theirs). Housekeeping was... More

Not a lot to add to all these good reviews. Probably the most conveniently located hotel with its own excellent adjacent restaurant. Staff excellent. Breakfast excellent. But as others have mentioned, proper blackout curtains would make a big difference to the sleeping experience!

The hotel is situated right in the center og the town. It is quite modern. The room are not huge, but big enough, and so is the bathroom. Beds are good. It's clean and everything works. Our stay there was wonderful! We loved all of this hotel! Breakfast, rooms (so nice), people, location, view, features... I stayed two nights in Svalbard hotel with friends. The hotel expanded since we came last time and now rooms are nicer with big windows. The hotel offers free coffee and it was very enjoyable as outside is cold. Internet connection was very good with wifi and breakfast was well managed with waffles which you can bake on your own.

Generally very acceptable hotel with some weaker points: walking to the Svalbard 2 across the road may be a bit inconvenient during winter season; breakfast is real nice, but as you must walk in socks it would be good if the floor was kept as clean as breakfast tables. The main building lobby offering coffee day&night is a plus. Fireplace... More

Dear Vlodi, Thank you for giving us your review, we really appreciate your feedback. It is a bit different that here in Longyearbyen we have the tradition of taking the shoes off at the entrance. My husband and I stayed here for two nights in a standard double room in the annex building. So if you are in the annex building, you have put on and then take... More

The room was clean and comfortable, well laid-out and spacious. We stayed here before and after our adventure cruise of Svalbard. The good things are the breakfast and the large comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly as well. It's actually split into 2 buildings and the annex is across the road. Only problem is you have to drag bags across deep gravel which is a pain...literally.
