We visited Bellino in early August and what hit us with a good impression right from the start was the fact the accommodation is child-friendly (ours are 5,7 and 12). The children’s’ swimming pool is shallow and round, and the surroundings are generally easy for kids to find room to play. As Bellino is relatively small and “Mama Soula” is always there 24/7 , you feel it’s totally OK to leave your kids playing around the pool or the garden, like it’s your own backyard. We were also happy to see that staff adhered to anti-COVID measures and rooms were cleaned regularly.

Everything was fantastic. From the crystal clear waters of the pool to the room. The place was cleaned every day under the conditions of COVID and the hospitality from the owners was unique. The beach is about 5 minutes by foot and the people are fantastic! I will book again for another 5 days at least at the next summer!

Visited belino apartments in August 2022. We left with the best impressions: Family and children friendly, even with a shallow pool for younger children, with fully equipped (including a small cooking station) and clean rooms. But the apartments' asset are its people, Soula and Yannis. Warm and kind people that care for their visitors and will do their best to assist you with anything. They really make you feel at home. On the plus side also, the apartments are located within walking distance from both hersonisos' s city centre and the picturesque village of Koutouloufari.
Thanks for everything Soula, Giannis, Agapi, Vaggelis, Dioni, Eleni and Zacharis.
All our love,
Sonia, Aris, Marina, Tasos

I booked this accommodation with Expedia, and it was supposedly 3* with 2 bars serving food and drinks, and a lively, friendly atmosphere.
What I got was a rundown place, with nothing open, and just a dirty room. It looked like it was being shut down, and they were just taking the money from people like me, who booked with a supposedly reputable booking agent, in good faith. There was even a notice in the room stating it was a 1* accommodation!
The rooms were dirty and never cleaned at all, and had a pervading smell of drains, and an open drain hole in the bathroom. The bin in the bathroom was only emptied every 3 days, and in Greece you have to put your used toilet paper in there, so you can just imagine. And this was the height of the summer season, in August.
There were no staff around apart from an old couple, who told me they were ill, and not interested.
This was the worst holiday I ever had, and I paid the going rate for what I thought was going to be lovely.
I have informed Expedia and was given a very small compensation, which I have to spend with them! I will be extremely careful in future.
I can only hope they take the Bellino apartments off their website, so no one else is as disappointed as I was.

We come back here as often as we can as the accomodation is lovely, clean and it has everthing that you need. The pool is absolutely lovely. Most importantly the owners are so lovely and accommodating. They make you feel at home. We will definitely be back. Love you guys so much. Miss you even more. Thank you for looking after us so well. Ok I was in Bellino Apartments this time last year. I gave it the benefit of the doubt but now that I see more people having the same issues I had I decided I'd share my experiences. When Mama Soula writes back on TripAdvisor she makes them out to be liars, I can assure you, they are not lying.

From the moment you land at Bellino Apartments, you are requested to pay for the AirCon and the lock (I was shocked at the fact that the AirCon wasn't included as it is in every other package deal). I didn't mind paying for the lock as this is the norm (even though it was a little more expensive than other places) but the air con was the most expensive anyhow. We weren't made pay for the BBQ at this stage.

The pool is nice and the barman Derry was friendly as was the cleaner Jenny. I enjoyed the BBQ and they put up a good spread. However, the room was dreadful. There were ants everywhere, the bathroom/shower was filthy and I felt dirtier coming out of it. The beds were cemented to the floor which meant we couldn't put the beds together which wasn't what we paid for. If you didn't drink at the bar every night, Mama Soula would be quite cold towards you.
The thing that tipped me over the edge was the lack of consideration on the last day. There is NO facilities to store luggage when you check out. I've NEVER been in a place where you have to pay to have your luggage stored safely on the last day. (Mama Soula claimed Falcon came and checked to see who stayed in their rooms longer on the last day). That's all well and good, we didn't want to stay in the room, what we wanted was for our luggage to be safe and hidden. Since we were not being picked up until 8 in the evening and since there were no other storage facilities, friends that we made allowed us to put our luggage in their rooms while we went to the beach to enjoy our last day. Mama Soula came storming at us, shouting at us and making us feel like we were criminals. This left such a bitter taste in my mouth. Initially I thought Mama Soula was a good business woman even though she can be a little overbearing nat times. However, this woman screaming at me because I wanted to put my luggage in storage was a far cry from the friendly woman I read about before I came. We ended up having to leave our luggage outside and sit and watch it all day.
All in all, I wasn't going to write this review, but when I saw the replies and the owner stating that the claims were untrue, I felt like I had to share my experiences. The fact that this experience is still so fresh in my mind one year on shows how this holiday affected me. I don't like writing negative reviews, Mama Soula will probably reply and argue against this, however I have stated all the facts, if I were you I'd take them on board.

Response from mamasula, Ιδιοκτήτης at Bellino Apartments

http://www.falconholidays.ie/holidays/crete-holidays/hersonissos/bellino-apartments/ Because you wrote that i am going to reply to you and argue with what you said, please open this link, read it carefully to see what are the terms in which i cooperate with Falcon Holidays. This link contains all the details regarding the extra charges. At all the Hotels, the checkout is at 12:00 and if the customers would like to keep their room, it is global that they are obliged to pay an extra charge. You obviously wanted to use other people's rooms because you didn't want to keep your room the final day. When it comes to the luggage, for anyone who doesn't want to keep their rooms, there is always space at the reception so that the luggage is attended at all times. That is something you know very well since you have stayed at the Bellino. Obviously this was your first visit to Crete and you didn't know that it is a traditional place and it is expected of us to keep the culture alive. Hence the stone beds. I am sorry for the bitter taste that you have left over and I agree that if you wish to return to Crete you should choose another accomodation and not my own, because I feel sad about the way you talked about me in a personal level with false facts as well.

Stayed in Bellino for a week and it was a disaster from day one!! Rooms were dirty. Beds were like camp beds. The shower was a disaster, the water went down the drain in the base of the shower and came back up through a drain in the floor. Water flowed from the toilet area into the bedroom every time we showered. Obviously we wernt the first to experience this as the base of the wardrobe which was right outside the toilet door was damp and begining to rot.
The room was never cleaned. We had to beg for towels.
Cant believe the other reviews which compliment bellino...these people must be on another planet or else havent travelled much and know no better.
Mama sula is not a nice person. She rips her customers off and takes advantage of young people who arrive over to drink for the week. She brain washes people into thinking she has the cheapest food and drink which is totally untrue. We ate by the pool twice and the food was rubbish. I saw the cleaner clean an ash tray and then wipe down the counter top where food is prepared. These people look dirty and are running a 'faulty towers'set up. The poolside bar is opened as early as 6.30am for when people return from the clubs, this might sound great for young people, but its just mama sula up to her tricks and taking advantage of drunk people.
Please dont be fooled by the price of the apartments you have to hand over money on arrival for the safe and air conditioning.
I hope you take this information on board as there is so much nicer apartments out there.

Well, here we are on our last day of 2 weeks. I'm having a cuppa outside while Karyn is packing. (I find it best to keep out of the way !). We, like most other guests had read previous reviews mentioning mama soulla and wondered where she was. It seems that her and Yiannis have sadly separated for now. This seems to have happened very recently, so please think about what this guy is going through. On our first week he seemed to be a bit out of sorts and maybe wasn't quite "on the ball" which seems totally understandable to us now we know that his life has been turned upside down. Also, Soulla the girl that works here now only started the week before we arrived. Things now are much more organised. Yiannis has employed another girl to help Soulla. (She started yesterday). Rooms are being cleaned every day and if you need anything you only need to ask. We had a studio (room 5) which was not huge but was fine for us, and now kept spotlessly clean, and was well enough equipped. This is Greece remember and not Spain ! The pool area is fab and perfect for chilling and sunbathing, although I think a few more sunbeds are required to replace a few broken ones so there's enough to go around. The pool bar on our first week didn't seem to have much choice but as everything else it seems to be much better during our second week. Location of Bellino is absolutely spot on. Go left for 5 minutes and your in hersonissos town/seafront and same distance uphill brings you to Koutoulafari which is where we went every night and is stunning. The Bellino and it's owner have had a major shock very recently but it is now fine so please don't be put off by what it WAS like but enjoy what it is NOW. Will we return ??? Oh yes we will. Yammas !!! Andy and Karyn xxx

The worst place I have ever stayed in. I had booked a room with a balcony and we got a small shabby room with no balcony nd a bear window which supposedly looked out into the garden. No privacy what so ever as we were next to the pool toilet and if u opened a window people had to pass to get to the pool. 2 stone beds at opposite sides with a bare room to walk up through leading to a bathroom. To close the door u had to nearly climb into the shower to swing it closed it was that small while avoiding gettin caught in it. The shower was tiny and the water flowed through a hole on the floor saturating all belongings. I'm not fussy but in boiling heat a small room isn't going to do and it wasn't even clean. we avoided using the room at all cost nd just used it for a few hours to sleep. We woke up to about 100 ants on our faces one night. Pillows were yellow and mattresses dirty and bloody. Soula is money grabbing, demanding money the minute u land in the room. Aircon, safe , BBQ, late check out. Not a deposit like most places u get money back for the safe. Robbie the bar man is the nicest man ever and he made our stay enjoyable , he was so helpful with everything. Always up for chatting and a shot of raki at the end of the day :) everyone else spoke to is only to look for money. No reception either which I found strange. the location is good but I woudnt return if I was paid to this apartment , we will be visiting a hotel next year. Don't get badly caught out. Also we werent told this by falcon and everything I am saying is true. Every day I couldn't wait to leave the place and head out , many others I spoke to were the same nd have said they woudnt return. Many others were asked to write reviews , gettin free shots in return. Wouldn't believe half the stuff

We stayed here last year and would never go back to this hotel. Hidden charges money demanded from the minute you arrive at the hotel, didn't matter it was 2am. The room was filthy the shower curtain was held up with a piece of wire and beds were concrete. Despite pictures of double beds we were told they did not have them at this hotel. Bbq was cancelled and we felt over powered by the over familiarity of the owner
