Great place to relax. Beautiful grounds, with swimming pool. On beach front, with security guards and designated hotel area on beach. Good restaurant, friendly staff. Highly recommend this hotel. Safe box in room. Lots of places to sit indoor and outdoor. Lovely balcony with dining tables and view of beach.
Don't pay in cash to the service boy for any food you order because they might not update the billing team. We had to pay twice for the same order. Mr Smuti at reception denied the payment and we had to pay twice. This guy argued and never bothered to check with his staff whether the payment was made in cash. We had to pay as we were getting late during checkout.
The restaurant is very expensive and food quality is not great wrt to price. Room service is dealt by unprofessionals. The bed tea is not complimentary and they charge INR 60 eventhough you skip complementary breakfast. Due to some of the staff miss behaviour the entire Hans Coco Palm Restore service is spoiled.
The property is located at outskirt and you have to travel 20 mins in auto to reach main temple and local market is also far. The resort has a good swimming pool but they charge INR 170 a day for swimming costume (that too without cap and eye glass).
We were on a family trip and booked 5 rooms. We requested for top floor rooms but they denied saying we don't have vacant rooms at top. Later we enquired in the evening and got to know rooms were vacant. The charges were same.
Although we enjoyed our trip in Puri we regret about why we went for Hans Coco Plam. The Receptionist Smuti Mahapatra has spoiled our mood at the end.
I thank the manager that he called my number to apologies about the behaviour of his staff but I thought to share my experience so that you make a right choice.
Every year I visit this hotel .. and this is my relaxing place .. and there stuff are so friendly .. but this time not . .. I can not expect ... all this what I picturise . .. Out side view are same and we'll maintained .. and about food .. is not match there previous food quality .. May be havey occupancy.. I will definitely talk to there management .. 🙄.. if they are interest .. but it's not expected ..
Excellent location, close proximity to the beach, great food, excellent environment, a cosy swimming pool and a great library to spend quaint , peaceful time. The hotel is manned by experienced and friendly staff who are ready to be of service to the guests. The hotel has its own select Panda's for visiting the Sri Jagannath Temple at your own time and access it conveniently. Got a very good travel desk to hire cars for the family to visit the Chilka Lakes , cruise in the Chilka looking for Dolphins and also having a great lunch on the way with great choice of fishes, prawn, crabs and country chicken..Awesome. One hotel gives you all the connects and that too the right ones. The next day was reserved for the Konarak Sun Temple which was equally attractive.
I was pleasantly surprised by the high standards of this hotel. Our room was immaculately cleaned with a superb view of the roaring Bay of Bengal sea. I swam each morning in an extremely clean pool with overhanging Frangipani trees that enhanced the already beautiful scenery. Above all, the restaurant was of international standards serving perfectly prepared lobster Thermidore and chowder to brilliantly prepared Indian dishes. I went out of my way to compliment the chef which is something I rarely do. We were able to book a great tour via the hotel to the Konark Temple and Bhubaneshwar. I would make two points in view of the fact that I have stayed in the best hotels around the globe; 1. Not sure what the fuss is about from some of the other nit picky reviewers, and 2. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
