Owned and run by the Government, you get a property which must have been beautiful under the British Raj but which has not been maintained since. Good location, staff trying to be helpful within rules, food more than average, no service past midnight. Cleanliness needs to be improved particularly in the bathrooms. Room decor is horrendous with nothing matching at...

Was in Shillong the last weekend and wanted to stay at this property. However, with all the rooms occupied we were offered the State Convention Center, which is an annex to the main property and also served by Pinewood Hotel. We checked into room 309. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were well mannered and soft spoken....

Stayed here for a brief business meet. As ever, enjoyed the serenity of this property with the old guest house style though modern amenities. This hotel has four levels of services/category I stayed in room 65 which is little away from the main complex, but easy to reeach all the parts of the hotel, like restaurant, conference hall, etc.

I have stayed in this hotel many times in the past.My current stay is after a long hiatus and I was wondering if the hotel is still a sentimental favourite. This hotel is run by Meghalaya Tourism but do not worry the hotel is fine. The architecture is typical Assam type British style. I stayed in the premium President room...

I went there 2012's winter, its a nice hotel, rooms are cotage type, have bar, geyser and fire place to fight winter, located in a nice location. walking distance from famous police bazar. Dinning was very good. Wifi is olny to lobby. I enjoyed the pool game with my friends on their antique pool table.

Went there twice, once in peak winter and later in summer. On both occasions, our stays were short..only for a couple of days. While i will go again there in summer, I will avoid staying there in winters. The heater system is bad. The service is guest house type. But the garden is very good. The restaurant is also contemporary and...

Pinewood Hotel in Shillong started in 1898 with its olde worlde beauty with wooden structure and old style rooms continues to be the prime and best hotel in Shillong, the capital city of Indian State of Meghalaya. The room No. 1 which was booked for me was very large with all usual facilities although the furniture and room decor may...

This is a restaurant and bar that depends hugely on memories of its glory days, many decades in the past. The building could do with repairs, the whole thing is shabby. The dining room strives to have ambience, but only succeeds in looking ill maintained. The grounds are beautiful, though, and one can while away the time while waiting for...

The hotel has an overall cool and calm ambience which is the best part. Food is good although the spead is limited (B/F). Service is good and staff courteous. Room sizes were quite small but all relevant facilities provided in the room.. The correct rating should be about 3.25 to 3.5 but I have given a higher rating for want...
