Matheran is a very quaint hill station, and the Fleetwood house from pictures exudes an old world charm. One Tree Hill at the the other end of Matheran is indeed a side of Matheran that is tucked away from hordes of tourist. Having said that, I was indeed excited to stumble across this property. For someone who loves Matheran and... More

Fleetwood House is a lovely old colonial bungalow in an isolated location in Matheran. It operates as a homestay with freshly cooked, delicious food in a house that is probably fairly much unchanged since it was first built. This was our first time to Matheran, and we were really happy we didn't choose to stay in or close to the... More

Tucked away some 35 minutes out of Matheran this old colonial house provides the perfect respite from city living. Though the walk from Dasturi is considerable (particularly when walking away from the house on a Monday morning, back to civilization and work) the welcome you're afforded and the location, tucked away from the thronging masses of Matheran make it well... We were really late in reaching Matheran and had underestimated the long walk uphill to the Fleetwood House...however the saving grace was that we were constantly being guided on the phone by Dipesh..including the time we were lost on the Pune- Mumbai expressway! Nevertheless we had hot steaming food laid out and warm water in the showers to freshen up.... More

Food is rice-plate quality as there is no proper cook. Furniture is old , dilapitated and torn. No fresh linen or mattresses. There is a donkey & 2... More

Our stay here for 2 nights was a memorable one. Initially one may feel it is a little far while walking but it is the most positive point. Rooms though not luxurious, are clean and well kept. Service and food is homely. Overall a nice place to stay and given a chance one would like to go back again

We spent a weekend (one night actually) at Fleetwood House, which we had completely to ourselves since there were no other guests at that time. The house is beautifully maintained and very very clean. It also photographs beautifully!!! The rooms were nicely doen up but are basic and beds in need of new mattresses(in all rooms-we checked!) . The kids... More

“the rooms in the main house are gloriously large, airy and have a beautiful old-world charm about them. the little cottages in the back are smaller and cosy and afford you a bit more privacy than the main house.”
