Wanting to try the east side of Lake Erie, (we are big fans of Kelley's Island), the Fetching Mrs. Rat & I headed to Geneva-On-The-Lake. I booked a few nights at the lodge. We arrived around 6pm on a Thursday evening. TFMR wanted to take...More
The 'cottage' was a great choice for us (2 people). New construction, immaculate, well maintained and right next to the lake. The propane fire pit extended the outdoor time in October. We enjoyed strolling the paths and bridges in Geneva Park next to the Lodge...More
A little dated, but rooms were clean and view was lovely! Staff was nice and attentive. The surrounding area was colorful, as it was fall and being by the lake was a plus. We stayed for a wedding, which was very well organized and all...More

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your posting on TripAdvisor. I see that your comments are positive, and can't help but wonder if the '1 star' perhaps should have been a '4 or 5 star' positive rating?
Room on 3rd floor overlooking the lake, 3 nights of rest and relaxation.. Will definitely do this again... Front desk staff were very helpful with information on things to do, and information on the local area in general...
We had a great time for my birthday! Property is beautiful...Staff needs a little work, nothing major, but need to be more welcoming. Horizons Restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast! The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable.

There is a paved trail along the lake into Geneva State Park, past the Marina with boats and the beach. About 2.25 miles long with benches near The Lodge for catching the sunset over the lake. Easy and flat if you are thinking of riding bikes or hiking with little ones.
There are also unpaved gravel/wild trails throughout the park- 3 levels of difficulty from easy to hard, I believe. The front desk has a map to keep you on track! This summer The Lodge is adding a zipline Canopy Tour and Challenge Course for adults and one for kids, so that may be something exciting to do as well.
Also, (I love your name!) there is an Irish pub open on weekends in summer that is family friends and serves Irish food, even kid friendly dishes. Hope this helps!
