This was our first stay at Berkshire Lake Campground and it was a great experience. The staff were all very friendly. The grounds were tended and facilities were clean. The store was well stocked. We were even able to buy a couple of small parts from the RV service center. The restaurant/bar on the grounds served good food at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this campground.
Let's start with them not telling you they charge $25.00 per person extra per night. Some of our friends paid more for the visitor fees than what they paid for their camping. You could smell sewer fumes all weekend from the vents, they come around and complain how you park your vehicles, and even towed my golf cart trailer without my knowledge. The sites are right on top of each other, and as others have stated there are construction vehicles in and out all day. I personally will not stay there again, there are a lot of better campgrounds out there, and they treat you like you deserve, camping is supposed to be a fun time, not to be hassled the entire time your there.
Lake? Campground? Neither. As stated earlier in other reviews the owner who inherited this place from her father is an awful person. Lake? Absolutely not. No swimming or even wading. Campground is attached to a gravel quarry. As stated in other reviews, dump trucks in and out so you can’t sleep and there will be an inch of dust on your camper when you leave. Laundry room, just read reviews and look at pics. Armpit of a place. After a horrible time there with dealing amenities and Sharon the owner we went to cross creek. What an upgrade. Spend the extra money and skip this joke of a campground and look around. We met other campers here who also had have had awful experiences with Berkshire.
We moved our trailer here in July/August of 2019. Since we have been at our lot we have been threatened on several occasions that our trailer will be pulled off the lot we paid for. When we returned in May of 2020 the breaker and power for our trailer had been tampered with over the winter and the staff was rude about having to fix it and wanted to charge us for the issue. The owner Sharon is rude to all tenants and told us we needed to leave by August 31st after we had to pay for my husband to stay with me and our daughters and I was upset about that and said something to the staff. She proceeded to cuss us our over the phone and told us she would call the police if we did not leave. We violated no rules and kept to ourselves. Now we have to pay through August but cannot use our trailer, how does that make sense. How can you not permit someone to stay in their own trailer on the lot they have paid for. She would not permit my family to all be at the trailer and would not allow my 65 year old mother in either and made her sit at the gate in her car until I came up and put her in my car anyway. I can understand why all the negative reviews have been submitted everywhere I look. DO NOT camp here, they will rip you off and do all they can to kick you off the property.…
Awful! Do not stay here! The owner is the worst, so so rude! The pool is filled with bugs and bottom paint is peeling off. We’ve camped our whole lives and never experienced this kind of customer service. Not a nice campground and price is high!
