I am the son of an employee at one a residence inn near by. My girlfriend and I were in the need of a getaway so we decided to take a trip to the Marriott in Fairlawn. My mother the reservation through her Bonyoy which is protocol. We arrived around 1130. Before we could get in the door good, the lady at the counter said, the pool closed the gyms closed and there is no housekeeping. I was taken back and felt like she didn’t want my visit. Fast forward to our room that smelled of mildew and feet. We went to take a shower and the towels were crunchy like they had been wet and hung for reuse. That in itself is unsanitary especially during this time of COVID 19. We have stayed at many hotels and know for sure this is one we will not frequent again. Signed, Disappointed
Up until last night i had very little negative things to say about this hotel. Staff has always been great. House keeping does a decent job. They offer a food and beverage mixer mon-wed. in the lounge. I been staying at the hotel for several months. Last saturday was a different story. At 4 am the fire alarm went off. It was a false alarm. As upsetting as it was we evacuated to the parking lot. It was 3 deg. out and snowing. last night it happen again and this time it was warmer but raining. this time it was 3:15 am. I had a 6am meeting so when i went back to my room i stayed up and went to work. I called after a few hours and i was very upset. I was rude and to the point. I mean 2 time in 3 days and tired and wanted to know some answers. i was direct and wasnt taking the brush off answers they been giving so i was transfered to the manager. Normally shes very nice. today she was not. After we both showed are bad sides i was told the problem and it would be a week before it would be fixed. I dont think a guest should have to ask to be credited for hotel issues. Other then this and a bug a find from time to time this hotel is like most others i stay in. Not dated, nice in door pool and great sitting area if you visit in the summer. most guest and staff are very enjoyable to be around. As for me Its time for me to check out and find a new hotel in the area. My job has me here for several more months and I like my sleep.…
Not only is this the cleanest & well maintained hotel, in the area, but the staff is amazing! Check-in is a breeze, housekeeping is thorough and sure to accomodate with any needs, and the breakfast staff is quick with some coffee. Everyone went out of their way to be kind and we felt very welcomed. Looking through past reviews, seems like this type of service is quite common, here. Great location and even better staff!
This is a very nice hotel and I highly recommend it. So, why are Clarice and Melanie (they take care of the breakfast are and evening mixers) so awesome and irreplaceable? Well, they and all the staff are super friendly and really go the extra Miles to make you feel at home . They are genuinely friendly, and I don’t mean the professional Airline flight attendant type of friendly. This was my third stay at The Residence Inn and I will definitely return. It’s a very good operation in a great location.
Stayed here for 2 nights in late October 2019. Hotel is new and well maintained. Better than the Courtyard across the highway (in my opinion, at least). My room (see pics) was clean and spacious. Everyone with whom we interacted was friendly and helpful. The happy hour and breakfast (both included in the room rate) were nothing exceptional but everything was clean and warm. Would definitely stay here again when in the Akron area.
