I travel over 150 nights a year and this is one of my favorite hotels! The staff here is outstanding starting with the Front Desk Supervisor Matthew Hout-Reilly.. I have stayed 5 night the last month with at least 3 kids and he has gone out of his way to make our stay great!! Mark at the front desk has also been great...The 2 girls serving breakfast and taking orders Gabby and Michelle are super...Trying to make orders for kids is a task and they have been outstanding!! Maurice at the bar is great....we needed milk for a bottle at night he was there to help us.The staff here is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10...I would recommend this hotel for business people as well as family's with kids who are doing thins downtown...Great location to see sites!! I will stay at this hotel everytime I am in Cleveland which is 3 or 4 times a month!!

Hotel's Favourite
We booked two rooms so a group of us could go to the Cavs game. This is the perfect location. We never had to walk outside as the Renaissance is connected to Rocket Mortgage Arena & the Jack Casino. The service at the hotel was outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful & the room was very specious & clean. Thank you for a great stay.

This hotel has absolutely beautiful architectural aspects but other than that is a NO go. Rooms were modern but not exactly clean- many other options in CLE! Hairdryer bag was disgusting and sheets were dirty. I expected more from this property but lesson learned!

Stay Report - 3/20 to 3/21 Location: Very good for downtown.  It's on Superior next to Tower City and it's RTA station, the Jack Casino, and a bunch of the downtown restaurants and attractions.  It's very close to I-90 as well and the airport is a mere 20 minute drive away.  Do note that this area is seedy at night.  I came back to the hotel at 9 PM and was panhandled inside the hotel.  Thankfully they have security.  Hotel: Make sure you like historic properties if you stay here.  Personally I do so I enjoyed that this is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Cleveland.  I also love how it looks, the lobby especially is absolutely amazing.  It does mean there are some drawbacks like small elevators.  Also the attached parking garage has some of the tiniest parking spaces I've ever used.  Self parking is $32.  Also there is a fitness center which is now open. Now, there are some issues staying here right now due to COVID.  They include: - No restaurant for breakfast. - No room service - No valet parking - Lounge currently closed Check In: I arrived at 4:20 PM and had to wait ten minutes for my room to prepared.  This was a little annoying as I'm Titanium but the front desk agent comped parking which was good service recovery.   Room: I had used a SNA and I was glad I did.  I had a massive suite with a huge living room with work space, wet bar, dining table, powder room, bedroom with outlets next to the bed and a spectacular master bathroom.  Wifi worked well and noise wasn't an issue.  I really liked the room.  Dining: I didn't partake in breakfast but you do have the option of ordering off a menu and picking up hot food from the lobby. Overall a good property.  It's cheaper than the other downtown options and I was happy with my stay.  I'd be back.

We stayed here for the weekend for an event that was being hosted at the hotel. It is a Marriott property so we weren’t too worried about it. Upon arrival (and departure), the parking garage had garbage scattered everywhere. The trash can was overflowing. They had the doors next to the parking garage locked, so we had to walk around the building with all of our luggage to go inside. The hotel has great character, but majorly needs a facelift! The carpet and furniture is dingy and worn. We enjoyed the small restaurant/bar area near the lobby. Very convenient. The cleanliness of this property is less than average. Garbage and wrappers can be found in many areas. I never saw anyone mopping or vacuuming the lobby/entrance area throughout the day. The elevators weren’t working properly, so we opted for the stairs. The staircase was disgusting. Can’t imagine an employee had checked the staircase in days. We found a used condom, razor, garbage and other unidentified “stuff” at the bottom of the staircase. I certainly did not feel like the cleaning standards are where they should be. The staff at this hotel was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
