We were staying at the Anchorage Seafront Hotel for one night in Victor Harbor before starting our drive towards Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road. We arrived around 3.30pm and managed to check in - our room was on the ground floor and looked out towards the water which was nice, but it was an old, tired looking room and...

Lovely Harborside restaurant with excellent food and wine list. Casual and fun, good for families. Tapas has many vegetarian options and the menu clearly indicates v, dairy and gluten free which is quite helpful

Have been for breakfast many times in the past. A great place. This time it seemed that there was more haste than pace. Having placed breakfast and coffee orders time passed slow. No coffee after 20 min. Had to get them moving. Then it was tepid. 45 min in no breakfast. When asked its up next. Funny that when someone...

The only place in Victor Harbour to get a feed. Quality local South Australian produce. Barossa bacon was AMAZING!!! The Tropical deal was delicious too. Always a line up for their quality fare. Front rooms are very period furnished. Amazing view of the ocean and beaches from the front garden.

Stayed here for one night while heading to Kangaroo island and it was a very enjoyable stay. Got there a bit late but they staff was still there waiting to give us the keys to the room. Some rooms have a shared bathroom but for one night, that's really no big deal. They even have a restaurant attached to the...

Recently we had a great 2 day stay at the Anchorage in Victor Harbour on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The Anchorage is on the beach front close to major attractions and shops. We found the location of the Anchorage a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street and minutes from beach access.

Had a night in Victor Harbour, and dinner at Anchorage was a highlight. Tapas of skewers of anchovies, olives and peppers, and spicy pork tacos were great starters. My main was spanner crab spaghetti and my husband's was a lamb dish - both incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive and the setting of the historic pub is beautiful.

It's a shame... I used to rate this place as one of the best in Victor Harbor, but its gone way downhill. 3 out of the last 4 steaks ($35) were either fatty gristle or way overcooked. I ordered medium rare and got well done plus a bit, 3 visits in a row... The menu is trying to be fancier...

My experience seems to be a bit different. I found the hotel great value for what I needed. I stayed in one of the heritage rooms with an ensuite and it was full of character and had sea views. The bedroom and bathroom were small but clean and functional and I had a separate sitting area. It could have used...

This is an older property which is functional and probably could be described as full of character but it was spoiled by one annoyance for us - the internet connection is good which meant one person in a room a few doors down spent three hours talking loudly in a foreign language on Skype . The problem was the three...
