After spending 3 nights on Kangaroo Island with nothing but a tent and a cheap sleeping mat, I was looking for a chill place to spend the night on a bed and found this gem of a youth hostel! For a low price they offer a clean and cozy place to sleep with large community rooms and a sunny terrace....

The Port Elliot YHA was a fantastic surprise for our family. We had room 9, which was spacious, clean and had a great view. There was a double bed and bunk bed in the room, plus we noticed a rollaway under the double bed (which we didn't need). The manager was really friendly and helpful with everything, and all the...

A class above normal hostels. Great family accomodation in an amazing location. The building overlooks Horseshoe Bay which is the best swimming beach in the Victor Harbour/Port Elliot area. The views are great and the area is very safe and relaxed. The hostel is immaculate and very well maintained. Great common dining room and kitchen to prepare your own meals....

Thanks for everything. Enjoyed my stay. I had just come off the heysen trail it was pouring with rain. I was smelly and looked like something the cat would drag in. Was treated superbly and my stay there was spot on. Clean and comfy, thanks also for the little treats of personally cooked meal gifts and the use of the...

We stopped by in this hostel on our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide. It was quite a good deal compared to the average accommodation prices throughout the area so we didn't expect anything outstanding. However, it was surprinsingly clean and well equipped. We had a welcoming and quiet stay. One of the best hostels ever.

The most stunning location. We enjoyed our stay here and value for money is great! Only a small thing but the fact it only had 1 combined toilet/shower for the men upstairs was a little awkward. Quite often hubby had to wait to use the bathroom and if someone was showering it would have been a lot longer. Only a...

Treat yourself and stay at this grand old Gem by the Beach! Kicking back in the beautifully restored living room after a day out exploring the coast and spotting the migrating whales, we couldn't be happier. Ask Steve, the friendly manager, about 'What's On' in the area, we were lucky to listen to some excellent live music in the pub...

Port Elliot is a beautiful location, and the Beach House is in a prime spot, with views over Horseshoe bay and boomer beach. Its close to the shopping and eating strip as well. And its been beautifully and funkily restored, and has great areas indoors and out for large groups to get together to enjoy each others company and celebrate...

PROS: Great common facilities, hardwood floors, fantastic location. Very clean restrooms. CONS: Still renovating upstairs and mens bathroom upstairs isn't open so as of now, men have to go downstairs to shower if staying upstairs, not ideal. Also no soap/shampoo available.
