After reading many reviews before picking Licuala out, we were not too surprised with what we found. We had come from the busy Cairns, to the bit more laid back Port Douglas and finally the very laid back, almost horizontal Mission Beach :-)). I had looked at a Google map of Licuala but it was a bit further from the...

Found this B & B on Tripadvisor and stayed there for 4 days during our visit to Mission Beech. It certainly lived up to all of the recomendations. The rooms are a tad small but hey your in the tropics so why stay inside. The veranda outside the rooms is an ideal place to watch the sun go down with...

After amazing reviews on trip advisor we were a bit disappointed on our arrival. There was not much interaction with our hosts, although we did get one of our complimentary beers on arrival and were shown to a great King Room with a very nice bathroom. Our room had a shower and bath, very nice. We headed straight to the...

The quiet elegance of the facilities and its striking natural setting immersed in the rainforest make Licuala Lodge a worthwhile destination rather than just a place to stay the night. Our stay of several nights was made even better by the hosts, whose attentiveness and gentle manner helped create a relaxed and genial atmosphere for all the guests. Everything here...

My husband and I enjoyed 3 gorgeous nights at Licuala Lodge. It's true... they do have the best brekky in all of QLD! Mick and Sue are both incredibly wonderful and generous people. From a fridge full of beer to offering lifts into town, they are all about service! The lodge is a bit off the beaten track, situated amongst...

We stayed here for 2 nights and would have loved to have stayed longer... The accommodation was amazing, probably the best we have stayed in. Mick and Sue couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was memerable. They offer a great breakfast and a fridge full of beer and soft drinks to help yourself whenever you need cooling down!!...

We spent our honeymoon in Australia in June 2009. First we went to Mission Beach and stayed at Licuala Lodge for two nights, surrounded by rainforest and all the flora and fauna. This was a great place for honeymoon! We even got a free bottle of wine as a "wedding gift" from our lovely hosts Mick & Sue. We swam...

although close to a beach and to other entertainment areas, the b&b is tucked in a rainforest and surrounded by beautiful gardens (if you are into gardening you'd be amazed). the attention and beauty of the place, the close proximity to nature wonderlands, and the easy access to food and wine would just make the stay so much more appealing....

Our only regret is that we booked only two nights at Mick and Sue's beautiful lodge. My husband, mother-in-law and I were travelling around Queensland and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Licuala Lodge, even to the degree that we just hung around the grounds for most of one day, seeing no reason to leave! In the past, we have...
