Arrived on a Saturday, stayed for 1 night in 2 bed/2 bathroom apartment on ground floor. Rooms are dark until lights warm up then the lighting is fine. Very spacious and modern, lovely bathrooms. A couple of lights weren't working and being a weekend no maintenance staff on shift but wasn't a problem. Swam in the pool in late afternoon,...

Had a delightful dinner here. Good food. Cocktails were good. Unfortunately there weren't enough staff on duty and everything happened very slowly. Plenty of aeroguard was used but there were hardly any insects

I know; you're probably thinking I've lost it. There's no way this place has the best pool in Australia. I'd argue it.... the size of it is extraordinary and the landscape is just incredible. Coming back from a hot day out means a real experience awaits. Hard to leave it once you're in.. did I mention pool service? Add to...

Loved this small community. Flew in from Cairns on Hinterland Aviation, would like to rate the airline as excellent but is not an option on your site. Flight is about 40 minutes and arrives at tiny airport, as you would expect. Hinterland also allow about 20kgs of luggage making my journey easy. Terminal is excellent and unexpectedly comfortable. On arrival...

My partner and I shared a "Resort Room" with Queen size bed in a room just off the swimming pool. A very pleasant stay. Good quality fittings and very quiet area. The staff/owners/managers were very nice to deal with. We would stay at this accommodation again.

The Sovereign is a beautiful, well appointed resort that we will be using whenever we go to Cooktown. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment (2 children under 6) whilst my parents stayed in a resort room. The staff got us into rooms as close as possible even though we didn't specifically ask which was thoughtful. Both room types were...

Was a pleasant surprise, friendly staff nothing was too much trouble, room was very clean & comfortable. Food was good, price was a little high for the quality of food served. Pool was awesome, was feeling like I was in a 5* resort. Thank you for the great stay & service, will be sharing my experience with others and recommending...

Stayed for a couple of nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. Was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Pool was beatiful after a long hot day in the Cooktown summer sun. Had a beatiful balcony to sit and watch the world go by. Lovely and quiet place in a central location. Worth a visit.

Beautifully modernised with enticing pool. Cooktown was so hot that it was nice to chill here and had a super dinner- huge steaks and excellent service. Very central for exploring the botanical garden and Cook Museum. Nice pool for a dip first thing

Cooktown is a fascinating site of Australian history. Now small, it retains much of its character, has most interesting places in town and within driving range. The sovereign resort Hotel is continuous with one of the oldest hotels, albeit much restored/rebuilt after cyclones and fires. It is very comfortable, a great breakfast (best fruit salad ever!) and is central to...
