What a poorly run and badly maintained establishment. We had a number of rooms as part of a wedding party. All rooms were freezing cold as windows were left open and no heating. We had a leaking toilet, my in laws shower didn’t work and one room stunk of weed and had pee stains. Very poorly run.

This hotel punches above its weight; lets get one thing straight, if you expect Butlers and servants presenting silver service then look elsewhere, it doesnt have a restaurant under its roof. It does have one 30 feet away which seems excellent. Back to the hotel, a wonderful greeting by Artie on reception and followed up by her wonderful colleagues who took over on nights then days. Beaming smiles and helpfulness were the order of the day. I cannot think of a better reception anywhere in the world than we got yesterday and I have been fortunate to stay in some wonderful locations. This had no equal. The room was clean and well stocked, soap in the dispenser and crisp sheets (bed was hard and not to our liking but thats preference). Water was aired and the kettle boiled in record time, tea bags and coffee were readily replenished by Artie, still with that engaging smile and helpful nature and all was well. It is not the Ritz or Savoy; it is a basic hotel that does what it says on the tin. I found at its price the value was superb and would not hesitate to return were we to go back to the area. Next time we would make a point of nipping over to the much mentioned Cotey's restaurant, a family affair that has a good name. If you can keep the expectations appropriate, there is no reason why you should not appreciate this hotel; they even chuck in a grab bag breakfast of Yoghurt, Croissant, fruit and a drink. The smile saw us off and we felt we had had both a bargain and met some lovely people too (one of the lads who was a guest was just as helpful explaining where things were and how to get to them). Budget hotel and was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was collected on the morning from reception. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was taken at Cotey’s which I would recommend too. During this pandemic and with all its constrictions the hotel did very well.

Large spacious room with nice comfortable double bed clean and tidy. All the usual refinements and exceptional value for money. Lovely warm welcoming staff upon arrival and help to hand with an awsome rapid hassle free check In and out thanks to the lovely Anne manager, Nicky, Arty just to mention a few. Great location just of the A1 road. Ample parking I've stayed here both on business and leisure and the hotel always delivers and exceeds my expectations. Keep the awsome fantastic great hard work up team looking forward to seeing you all soon. Kind best regards Lee Tolliday.
