Just come back from a two night stay here with friends, the hotel was a great place to stay. The food was delicious for dinner and breakfast, they really looked after us. The rooms were all clean and lovely, beds were very comfortable too. Would highly recommend for eating and sleeping.

Had to cancel a booking for Christmas Lunch owing to personal reasons that are insurmountable, appalled at manner in which Hotelier dealt with this, angry, abrupt & sarcastic. Informed me we were the 2nd booking to cancel and he was loosing hundreds of pounds, and there was no chance of refunding the deposit. I had not asked for a refund...

We really lucked out booking the Old Forge Hotel as it was a lovely stay and the hosts, Philip and Nicky, were so pleasant and helpful. Upon our arrival, after traveling overnight, Philip prepared the most delectable assortment of sandwiches. Our room was clean and the breakfast was abundant and delicious. Thanks Philip and Nicky for navigating us to our...

Read the terms and conditions carefully. I have had to cancel 11 days before visit because dog has kennel cough and have been charged 50%. Also I was told there was no way my dog could eat with me however I have read on here that someone was allowed to have their dog with them.

We went on 3rd September for a last minute change of plan for our wedding anniversary. We had no dog sitter so this was perfect, dog ate with us and really really lovely food, well above what we expected for such a last minute booking. Nice and clean homely feel, bathroom was across the landing but this was not an...

We stayed again at The Olde Forge Hotel in August. The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was full when we stayed, and everyone ate in the restaurant . The food was delicious and plentiful, service prompt and good company. On chatting to the other guests, they all agreed what a lovely friendly hotel. It is...

Phillip and Nicky were very friendly and helpful with local advice about the best places to visit. The room was spotlessly clean and well presented. We ate in one night and the food was excellent. The only drawback was the noise from the road in the night; but we were there at a very hot time and needed all the...

Poorly situated close to busy road; rather unwelcoming to find front door locked at check-in time. Bedroom cramped and stuffy, facing road and with windows open very noisy indeed. No Air-conditioning. Old building with multiple steps in and out of rooms. Hosts were like chalk and cheese, she very superior attitude, he was more pleasant. She was offensive following an...

I stayed for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings. First off, Nicky and Phil are fantastic hosts and nothing seems to be too much trouble. You simply could not ask for a nicer couple running the hotel. They have great local knowledge which is a boon if you don’t know the area. Phil’s pub recommendation was spot-on!...
