We have just returned from an overnight stay at this fantastic B&B. We were greeted by Tim, the owner and we had tea and cake in the sitting room which was a lovely bonus. We stayed in the Solicitors room in the main house and it ticked all our boxes: a cosy room, an extremely comfortable bed with a touch...

We booked two rooms, the magistrates room and the solicitor room. Both are in the main house. The place is in a quiet side street just off the main road, five mins walk from two pubs and a great little French restaurant. The decor is all antiques and quirky police themed knick knacks and pictures. Quite amazing. The rooms are...

We stayed for 2 nights in the solicitors room and had a lovely trip. We were greeted with tea and cake, the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was delicious. The only difficulty we had was with finding somewhere to park, but I definitely wouldn't let that put you off staying in this charming B&B.

I stayed here for three nights as I was working in the area. It is a lovely small hotel which has a lot of character, with it being an old Police Station. Tim, the owner is very welcoming and makes a lovely breakfast!

We enjoyed a great 2-night stay in the Magistrate's Room at the start of this year's Art Festival. The Old Lockup is quirky, very comfortable, full of character and complemented the Festival atmosphere perfectly. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for Tim in ensuring that we enjoyed our stay, including arranging secure off-street parking for our...

We stayed at the Old Lock-Up during a bank holiday weekend trip to hike in the Peak District. While there's not much to Wirksworth, the hotel is really well-located to attack some of the nicer trails in the area and not far at all away from Chatsworth which is definitely worth a visit. Tim was very helpful regarding our two...

We had a 2 night stay at The Old Lock Up, Wirksworth, last week as we were investigating some family history. The hotel is in a good location and close to the market square and the main shops of Wirksworth. We were made to feel extremely welcome on our arrival. We found the rooms very comfortable and clean and the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We spent 2 nights in the Solicitors room and whilst it is somewhat old fashioned in its decor it is very comfortable. The bed was one of the comfiest we have slept in. The service is excellent from the moment you arrive. We were a little earlier than we had advised but Tim welcomed...

A Lovely, characteristic and peaceful place to stay. Nice views and walks and minutes away from Matlock Bath in the car. Tasty little French restaurant around the corner too. Tim was a laid back landlord who made us feel comfortable (and cooked great breakfasts!) would love to visit again and stay in the magistrates room.
