Excellent place to stay in the beautiful settings of Tideswell. Linda the host was very welcoming and the preparation of corona virus was better than any pub or restaurant you will find. The rooms were beautiful and spacious and, I loved the addition of biscuits or mints to go along with tea or coffee, a very nice touch. Breakfast were wonderful and hearty for anyone who loves to walk and/or cycle and they also have cycle storage too. Well worth the stay

We had already decided that the first B&B we would stay in after lockdown was Merman Barn as it was always so clean. We weren't disappointed as the owner has done everything possible to make us feel safe. She is only hiring out two rooms, each with its own dining room so the only place you'll meet anyone else is on the stairs or hall ( which are constantly being sanitised). She is also leaving at least two days between room bookings to give time to completely sanitise the rooms between occupants. In the room itself non essentials like cushions have been removed and things like the remote control are in plastic bags to make them easier to clean. The owner doesn't go into your room during your stay but will provide fresh towels etc on request. Happily, one thing that hasn't changed is the breakfast. The choice and quality was as good as ever. For evening meal, there are a number of pubs/restaurants nearby where you can eat outside and we would particularly recommend the Merchants Yard in Tideswell and the Red Lion in Litton, which has a marquee. If you are nervous about staying in a B&B at the moment, we think Merman Barn is as safe as you're likely to get.

We stayed at Merman Barn from 17 to 19 July as some of the first guests after the reopening after lockdown. Linda is very well prepared and welcoming despite the necessary COVID precautions. The rooms are very comfortable and meticulously prepared and cleaned. The excellent breakfast kept us fueled well into the many enjoyable walks we did in the area. Highly recommend this place for a break after lockdown. We were the only guests for those days which made it easier to adjust to the new restrictions.

We stayed here for a week straight after lockdown was lifted and the preparation for Covid 19 regulations was outstanding. We had a lovely stay with a wonderful host, Linda, who always ensured you had everything you needed to make your holiday perfect. The freshly homecooked breakfast with toast ,orange juice, fruit bowl with greek yoghurt as well as freshly ground coffee and tea was superb and set you up for the day. The room was spacious with a wonderfully comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. We would highly recommend Linda's B and B and will certainly be returning on our next visit to the Peaks Neil and Gael
