We stayed for 1 night. The staff were attentive and we really enjoyed the food that was served. We liked the self contained cabins and that you could park right outside. After a full day at Alton Towers we also really appreciated that our small cabin had a bath tub. We turned the electric radiator off as it was directly underneath the curtains and seemed a little risky to us to sleep like that, so our room was on the chilly side and the walls between the cabins are thin, we could hear everyone leaving in the morning. That being said our stay was still comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast before leaving.

We stayed in Ashbourne for the weekend to visit Alton Towers and we noticed The Dog & Partridge on our way to Alton Towers and decided to stop there for dinner on our way home. We were unsure if we would have needed to book a table but we were pleasantly surprised when we enquired about availability and were presented with extremely friendly staff who took us to a lovely table on their terrace over looking the beautiful countryside. We had travelled from Wales where the pubs and restaurants were still closed so to eat out was a treat for us. The food was lovely - I have the Malaysian curry and it was delicious. All the staff were friendly and chatty and made us feel at home. We will definitely visit again next time we go to Alton Towers.

We stayed here for two nights having booked a day at Alton towers for the family ( two adults my two sons 19 and 14 ) we travelled from Cornwall and arrived at about 8pm , we were warmly welcomed and asked if we would like anything hot from the kitchen which was lovely . The room was warm , clean comfortable with all you need for a comfortable stay , we booked cooked breakfasts at extra costs hot and ample with proper sausages and black pudding ( but well worth the money ) the continental was free and ridiculously generous more like a picnic ( fantastic ) which is all delivered to your door by the lovely staff . We did not eat at this venue but I did see the food that came out of the kitchen looked good . The real ale was great and my husband enjoyed the cider on tap . All in

We’re just back from a lovely couple of nights at the D&P. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Including the reception, waiting and cleaning staff. Room was clean & comfortable. Steak & Ale pie dinner was splendid. Would definitely stay again.

I don't think the hotel is all that it makes out to be, when entering the hotel we was told the room we was staying didn't have a proper parking space, that we could just park in front of our friends car, (we had to do this) the parking space which was there was so close to another persons front door it wasn't possible to park there. Secondly the room was very badly laid out, the toilet was so close to the bath you could barley sit down and use it, When my partner (male) tried to use the toilet he had to hold the toilet seat as when he put it up it kept falling down and the toilet seat wasn't even lined up properly. The bath panel was hanging off, the bin in the bathroom was rusted and broken, We had to call and ask what the problem with the water being hot was, to be told
