Went for a meal at Christmas and it was lovely. went again today, 11 march, with family and it was awful. Table was booked for 8pm, at 9.30 our main meal arrived including cold vegetables, tough meat and rock solid pastry. This was after one of our party had mouldy bread on their starter plate. We should have realised what...

Visited the Kelstedge for our annual family Christmas lunch. Although there were 11 of us including 2 babies the service and quality of the food was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and although being extremely busy we were served promptly. We were offered the choice of both the Sunday Menu and also a festive menu. Ample portions which even...

My husband and I work very long hours/days collecting and delivering customers vehicles all over the UK and we do not get time to sit in or often stop for a meal and I'm a very fussy eater and also severely allergic to most foods but it was no problem for them they were very willing to cater for my...

Staying at a local B & B...our hostess recommended the Kelsredge Inn for an evening meal. And thank goodness she did.... we were warmly welcomed by the bar staff who showed us to our table in the cosy bar. The menu choice & specials board had something to suit all appetites. Our meals were freshly prepared, attractively presented and cheerfully...

Really nice pub situated in a village near Matlock, Excellent food although menu didn't have much variety but there again you can have too much choices. Served real ales which is another reason for choosing this venue. Even tried a range of cider called Old Mout which finished off the meal quite nicely

Called here over the bank holiday weekend, nice sunny day so sat outside with our drinks till dinner was ready. We decided on the roast beef dinner. On first sight it didn't look very much on the plate, to be honest one tiny stingy roast potato was a bit tight, there was a mixture of veg but only small bits...

We chose the early bird menu, excellent choice. Service and presentation first class. Friendly staff, very attentive. I chose roast of the day, and it came with locally sourced vegetables. My husband chose home made fish cakes and chunky chips, plus a well dressed salad.

We had lunch at the Kelstedge Inn on a quiet rainy Monday ( not the best day perhaps to expect first class food and hospitality). However, there was no compromise in either food or service. A very personable young man at the bar catered , as the front of house man, for the few customers. The menu and "specials" are...

Called here on a Wed evening without booking, young man behind the bar offered us a choice of table, then proceeded to offer us drinks, explaining those beers we weren't familiar with, good start! We were quickly given menus and in a timely manner our order was taken. My wife had crab salad, which she enjoyed and I had lasagne,...

A party of friends went for the first time, based on previous reviews. It could only have been an "off" day. But I don't think so. The fish was very poor quality, quite obviously not fresh and cooked from frozen. The chips were also shop bought oven chips and the portions were miserly. The food was meagre, badly cooked and...
