First of all we have to say how fabulous the staff of this hotel are. They are helpful, friendly, professional and nothing is too much bother. We stayed for 3 nights and had breakfast and evening meal included in our stay. The food is very good and there is plenty of it, the portions are very generous. Our only gripe is about the room. The one we stayed in was very tired. The bed, the toilet and bath were clean but the bathroom had black mould on the edge of the shower screen and even the skirting in the bathroom was black. There was also 3 cracked tiles on the floor. The bathroom could do with freshening up. The bedroom furniture was fitting for the style of room but again the bedroom could do with freshening up. Although we appreciate the building is old and also may have been closed for sometime due to the pandemic we were disappointed to find loads of cobwebs everywhere in the bedroom. Although most were high up this is still no excuse. The curtains also looked like they could do with a wash. Despite this we would recommend staying here. It is a beautiful part of the country and there are plenty of great places to visit.…
We booked a lunch table for the Pizza / Beer Special at £10 ..so glad we did. Ample parking with a Stunning View . Greeted warmly by the Manager , we sat outside as it was a sunny day & a beautiful setting ..all the staff are so polite, polished & very efficient . The chef was also lovely & friendly & made us all a fantastic fresh pizza right next to us in the outside pizza oven .we were all really impressed by our visit & can't wait to return ..We were even shown one of the rooms with a glass roof ideal for star gazing.
Not been out much during Covid so booked somewhere we’d been in the past and thought we could rely on them. Was planning to enquire about visiting over Christmas as we won’t be able to be with family but after a visit will certainly not be returning until after Covid. Tables far too close together. Guests obviously not abiding to Tier 2 regulations as households mixing, but accepted by staff? Some staff wearing masks over one ear. Come on Santo - you can do better! But to end on a positive, young staff very cheerful and helpful.
Really nice rustic feel to the place, nice place to eat, nice to stay, staff very friendly and helpful staff and make you feel welcome and nothing is too much effort, food is absolutely great, those chunky chips are the best I’ve ever had sooo nice! Rooms and facilities are clean and well kept. Also excellent with the Covid measures felt absolutely fine, no concerns.
This was booked for my brother’s 40th. It was a beautiful venue to have afternoon tea, the food was of high quality and the staff were so attentive and went above and beyond to make this occasion that extra bit more special. There was so much food we got to take some home. I would definitely go back again. A special thank you to the staff working on the day of our visit, you are all super stars!!!
