We ate here on a Friday night - the food was delicious and big portions. Also very reasonably priced. One of best pub meals had - staff were also very helpful and friendly. It gets busy so do reserve a table.

This village itself is a quite a pleasant place to stay. However, the Scotmans pack is still really a pub pretending to be a `hotel`. Trying to find a light on the landing with those stupid push in switches - its so 1960's. Food is OK but basic pub food so don't expect anything to write home about.

Fell in to this bar again after a few hours out walking Derwent Heritage Trail. Dog welcome in back room where we had lunch. Good standard of pub food. Seemed very popular this late Sunday lunch time. Friendly.

This is a popular and friendly inn; accommodation is clean and comfortable. Food is of good pub standard with some innovative dishes. The menu is not extensive (which I think is good) but the food is home-cooked and tasty. Overall it is a good base from which to explore the Peak District. We have stayed here before and will probably...

Called in here at the end of a 10 mile hike around Stanage & it is bang on the route back to the car!!! Lovely beer, friendly staff, very sunny beer garden & very reasonable prices. Will definitely return next time in the area.

We were hiking in the Peak District and wanted a comfortable pub with good food. While we did not sample much of the menu we had great fish and chips as well as a good French onion soup . The pub is cozy and attractive and the service prompt.

The staff were very friendly, the rooms were spacious and the beds were v comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and I would also recommend the fish and chips if you eat in the bar, an enormous portion and extremely tasty. The rooms are above a pub so you can hear noise from downstairs until closing time but that is to...

We had one of those days were you get in the car and drive in any direction. Already having been to Cromford, Matlock and Bakewell.. We found our way to Hathersage and a lovely little pub called The Scotsmans Pack. Very friendly staff and the pattio/beer garden was small but beautiful ... alot of care goes into the flowers that...

Called for a sandwich and a pint during a walk..... Food, pub and beer good...... Dour, fed up bar lady not so good ! A shame because it would have been a five....a friendly smile costs nothing. We had a great walk by the way and Hathersage is quaint.

After a very wet walk it was a welcome retreat for some lunch. Nice local beer and an amazing fish pie. They had an interesting menu, boys had wild boar burgers which got big thumbs up, chops very good too
