We've eaten here a few times in the past (and always really enjoyed the food), but hadn't been for four years. Since then I've gone from being vegetarian to vegan and so was disappointed on discovering that there was nothing for me on the menu. However, upon asking I was offered a couple of basic options. I opted for a...

Called in for an early dinner and chose the Derbyshire meat and tattie pie with mash and mushy peas from the menu. This was a very tasty dish and left little room for a dessert afterwards, although I did end up having ice cream. Staff are welcoming and friend and the food good value.

You can't fault the staff at the Millstone - they are all friendly and ready to help. As a passing stop for cyclists or walkers it's probably ok. We stayed here for two nights and dined on one of them and were left disappointed. The rooms are ok, but only ok - not worth what we paid by some way....

Every time I visit this establishment it just gets better. The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. I wish some of the local eating places would visit and see how it's done nothing is to much trouble for this great watering hole not on the menu then ask and they will do their best to accommodate-That's customer service. The Millstone probably do the best Carvery ever. They have done for years. However I had one of their homemade shortcrust pastry pies for lunch. Wow, what a treat. It was fab. Highly recommended. Great service and excellent food.

Came for lunch after walking with a party of friends. We have all known the Millstone over a number of years and were looking forward to this visit. The Millstone has good car parking and there are lovely views from its windows. Our last visit for lunch was very good but we had a very poor experience this time. Our...

Thank you for your review and your comments are appreciated. Unfortunately, in contrast to your previous visits, this one was disappointing for you and for that we apologise. We can offer no defence other than that it was the head chefs day off which left a new chef in training who'd only just joined the team and the commis chef...

I stayed here with 4 friends for our annual "boys away" trip. Our requirements on the trips is for a reasonably priced inn that serves good local food, excellent real ale and has comfortable en-suite rooms. The Millstone fully met all these requirements and additionally the staff were very friendly and helpful enjoying a good laugh and joke with us...

Another review of the Millstone Inn as just back from our annual short break, this time a treat for my husband's 50th birthday. As usual loved the beautiful views from our room, walking in the surrounding countryside, the food, the good range of ales and the friendly staff. The thing we like most about the Millstone Inn though is the...

Driving down the road we saw the sign saying breakfast served from 8-12. Seeing as it was just before 9 we thought we'd give it a try. We were standing around for quite some time before a man came over who barely said hello. Eventually we were seated where the carvery is normally served, completely separate from everyone else. We...

Thank you for your review and your comments are appreciated. Please accept my apologies for your unhappy experience and for the member of staff on duty as they were clearly not having a good day and their lack of enthusiasm, professionalism and attitude in general cannot be excused. However, we are a country inn with 9 rooms, some of which...

We had the pleasure of visiting The Millstone Country Inn for a lunchtime meal with friends. The moment we stepped in we were made welcome by the Proprietor, Noreen Rabani, The dining rooms are very well presented and give a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
