cycled here at the weekend and stopped for lunch. Very busy in such good weather but food was excellent and service was great. Best chips I've tasted for a long time. Would definitely recommend going.

I bought a groupon meal voucher to be used at the Millstone. On arrival there was no track and trace, sat at a table pulled my chair in and cut my finger, there was something underneath that was sharp. Waitresses were very helpful and gave me a wipe and a plaster. Ordered a steak which i specifically asked to be cremated. The meal came and it was very poor quality. I complained to the Waitress who was very apologetic. Chef either didn't listen or didn't care.I was offered a dessert for free but i declined.I was very disappointed with this venu and wont be returning.

Sadly this hotel was a real let down and we ended up checking out a day early. Staff were absolutely fine, welcoming & polite - no problems there whatsoever. However, it was the room that was the real disappointment. Cold, sterile, & actually a bit depressing to be in. The mattress was rock hard and in all honesty we hardly slept for the one night we stayed.😞 Definitely not 4* standard and for the price we paid we were really quite shocked at just how basic the room was. As others have mentioned breakfast was bagged up and left on a table outside the rooms with a communal toaster to share amongst other guests. Completely understand the Covid situation but somehow this again felt very underwhelming considering the price paid for the accommodation. The pub itself lacked atmosphere & charm which is also a real shame. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. In fairness to the hotel, the man at reception was really understanding and helpful when we said we wanted to leave early and offered us a refund for the night we didn’t end up staying which was really good of them.
