We were visiting the area and found ourselves here for an evening meal as the nearest place to our b&b. Arriving early evening we got a table even though the place was buzzing (Saturday night). The extensive menu had lots of tempting options but in the end we both chose steak and kidney pudding which was wonderful. We decided there...

I had heard rather good things about this pub so me and my family decided to go along for a sunday dinner. First of all we had'nt booked a table prior, and as we arrived we asked if we could have a table for 4 the man with glasses that attended us was extremely rude, telling us that we should...

We were staying locally at The Old House and were recommended this pub. We were warmly greeted and had very attentive service all night. The atmosphere was of a well used local pub , it was busy and most groups were eating. Traditional good pub food was served and one glitch with our meal was quickly resolved and ultimately we...

We had originally booked a meal at another pub in hadfield but on arrival was informed that the traditional Sunday roast was not an option, we therefore rang the peels to see if they could accommodate us which they did . On arrival it was nice to see a really busy pub with plenty of people eating (only 1 family...

We ate one evening at this pub, and enjoyed our meal a lot. The guest beers were good and well kept. The food menu is extensive - and that's probably the biggest problem. With such a huge menu it's difficult to tell what the pub is good at and what is just on there as a filler. The portions were...

An early start followed by meetings meant we were late stopping for lunch, too late perhaps... we did however follow the signs and chance our luck. What we found was a warm welcome and a willingness to serve lunch a little bit after the kitchen was supposed to have closed. The Chicken Pie was great and the service was friendly.

Came here after a walk around the area, for a welcome drink. Nice beer garden in the sun, with astroturf, good idea. Drinks varied with good beers, and plenty of choice. Landlord wasn't particularly friendly, so this was noted.
