My colleague and I ate dinner here whilst on a business trip. We had spotted it when driving down towards Matlock to our hotel and decided to drive back and give it a go. The menu choice was reasonable and the prices were reasonable too. When the food arrived it was tasty, hot, and nicely presented. The atmosphere was pleasant...

A hidden gem, we saw this place from the road and decided to stop for Sunday lunch which was £10 for 2 courses £12 for 3. We thought that looked good value. The place was busy but the service was efficient and quick. We didn't end up having Sunday lunch but it did look good. We had steak n ribs...

Recently stayed here for a few nights for our first wedding anniversary. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was a little smaller than what we had both been expecting, but was nice and cozy. Breakfast was included in with the room. Plenty of choice and staff accommodate for any food preferences. Good sized portions and good quality. Will...

so......where to start.........it claims (according to their website 'set in the heart of the Peak District' - it is not in the Peak District National Park and certainly not as 'in the heart of'........check the postcode......it is on the edge of the Peak District.........nice try...) staff try their best but the fact they don't serve anything past 'bar snacks' outside...

Just called in this evening for dinner, very pleasantly surprised as the food we received was amazingly good, really enjoyed it, the young lady who served us was very pleasant and courteous. Would definitely be returning for yet another taste from the menu. Two courses for £15 and all cooked and presented beautifully.

Convenient to the road, but not convenient to any of the communities, such as Bakewell, the Mensal Trail, Hardwich House, or Chatsworth House. A rather dreary building, needing upgrades and cleaning. Our room was small; the walls, etc. had dirt blotches here and there. Our room was non-smoking, but there was the odor of cigarette smoke in the hallway.

Had a one night stop over on our way further up north. Found the hotel on booking.com at a very good nightly rate including breakfast. We are a family of 5 so needed 2 rooms, both very nice , clean , comfortable and quiet. The hotel is next to a large park so a nice after dinner walk was enjoyed....

My husband and I stayed for one night leaving yesterday, had searched online for somewhere to stay as we have never stayed in or visited the area before. I was attracted to Barringtons by the high ratings and positive customer reviews and I have to say that it lived up to expectation (and hope) . Super-clean, large bedroom and bathroom,...

Fantastic location. Beautiful old building with all the original features kept. Room was huge..clean and very comfortable. Ensuite was very nice. We were able to store our bikes in the hotel. Food in the restaurant was amazing. For breakfast you let them know what time you would like it. You go into the beautiful dining room and immediately offered tea...
