Stopped before headed to the Blue John mines for a coffee and a cake. Was busy and we could see why as they do a good selection of stuff for breakfasts. Had a lovely coffee and tea and cakes. Quite happy, as per their name, for walkers and bike folks and there were a good number of those present.

We spent 3 nights at the Rambler's Rest Guest House during the Easter break. The Rambler's Rest is tucked away down a small, very picturesque lane off the main strip of Castleton. Complete with babbling brook and ducklings, it's very much a picture postcard location with an abundance of pubs, restaurants and walking routes available to enjoy. The owners (family...

After a long walk from Bradwell up Win Hill, across to Mam Tor. On the wat back round we decided to stop for a well deserved break in Castleton. We came across this lovely place with a sign outside about a coffee and cake deal. Never one to turn down good cake we thought we would give it a try....

Just got back from an excellent 3 night stay at the Ramblers Rest! We chose this B&B based on its location and very positive reviews and we certainly weren't let down! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a friendly welcome from Claire who runs the B&B with her husband Robbie. Our room (room 4) had lots of...

Really good B&B in an ideal location. Booked last minute but hosts still very accommodating. Arrived just on closing time for the cafe but Claire still got us to the room immediately. Room 4 was cosy and comfortable and breakfast in the morning was excellent with plenty of choice and cooked to order. Made the booking purely based on location...

Visited today. A return visit & I was recognised despite not being for a while but maybe it was my greyhound who they loved and I brought another greyhound and friend. Great coffee & toasted sandwiches. Our visit to Castleton was to see the Xmas tree festival in the local church. Combine the two and you will have a perfect...

I love this place and the people! Castleton is a Peak District gem, and the Ramblers Rest is one of the settings that holds the gem in place. The Rest it conveniently central to town, but not on the main drag. But within easy walking distance to all the Inn's and food. Parking is available and much appreciated for those...
