Very welcoming and friendly landlady greeted us with a cup of tea which was more than welcome after our journey in the rain. The view from our clean and comfy bedroom was a near vertical green slope littered with grazing sheep. Only a short walk from the centre with loads of tasty lively pubs and shops, but in a quiet backstreet... More

Just back from a two night stay at the lovely Hillside House. Ideally situated just a five minute stroll from the pubs and shops of Castleton. Our room was spotless with a comfy king size bed with a hill side view. The conservatory looks out on to a wonderful garden and stunning countryside. We had an excellent full English breakfast.... I was looking for a nice valentines break in the Peak District, and wanted to go to Castleton after some great weekends there. Most places seemed to have no vacancies, but Hillside House was available. We stayed the Friday and Saturday night and we very much enjoyed our visit. Jayne, the owner was delightful, and picked us up from Hope... More

A lovely place to stay in Castleton. Jayne made us feel very welcome and was very helpful. The room was lovely, clean and very spacious with lovely views of the garden. It had everything we needed for a weekend stay. There is plenty of parking outside the B&B and the main hub of the village is a short 2-3 minute... More

After making provisional booking, which was not acknowledged. Despite 5 telephone calls, no contact from this establishment, until Thursday afternoon, then being told by the owner that she is not computer literate and that her daughter who deals with the web site, was on holiday. She then informed me our booking was cancelled. Not good enough. G. Watson

Just back from a weekend in castleton. This B&B is a short walk from the village, with plenty of parking space. This was the best nights sleep we have ever had in castleton. For me it was like the real castleton being in a family home, it was very quiet and just the sound of sheep. Fabulous views from the... More

We have spent here two nights and found the place very good. The owner is the most lovely women ever and the breakfast was good. The location is perfect for those who wants to be far from the other houses and the view is lovely. We had a nice time there.

The house is in a quiet spot about 5 mins walk from the centre. We had great views across the gardens and fells from our window. The room was a decent size for the two of us. There is plenty of private off-road parking space here (parking can be an issue in the town centre). The breakfast was so generous... More
