The Lady on the reception was extremely rude and unfriendly. We had paid for the room to be kept on till 12pm and was getting a call from reception at 11:15 we needed to be out our room. The lady on reception really needs to brush up on her customer service skills.
We were checked in by an extremely rude receptionist. She didn’t smile once and certainly did not make us feel welcome. She pointed us in the direction of our room, again without a smile or any positivity. The room itself was very small and tired, no caps on the taps for hot and cold. The room was noisy, the window didn’t open/ close properly. The rest of the staff that we encountered (except for 1) were not at all friendly or helpful. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired!!! On checking out the following morning, the same receptionist was just as rude as when she checked us in! We would certainly NOT recommend staying here unless you like rude and negative people.
This was a birthday present for my mum from my brother and I. The room was spacious & very clean . The food in the restaurant was very good. I had pheasant stroganoff for the first time and absolutely loved it , top marks ! We would definitely stay and eat here again. Also parking at the side of the hotel .
Stayed here for one night only thank god . No sleep banging doors all night music and shouting from the pub downstairs. Smoking out side the window with loud talking . Shower head fixing not working so it pointed down and you couldn't adjust the height. Cracked tile in the bathroom floor . Dated interior to the room very old worn out mattress. The breakfast was continental type / one type of cheap meat and slim pickings that looked dried out . I went for the full English told it was extra money which I've never known in a B&B I was hungry so I paid up . Staff at breakfast were surly 😠 and talked like you were a inconvenience. This was not cheap to stay here especially if you add the breakfast cost . The garage next door is busy and the car park is not secure for motorcycle parking. You can roll out between the bollards . Something I asked about on the phone before booking I was told ot was secure lol nope ! On a very busy main road too . So not much going for the place really 😕 I would not stay here ever again. One of the worst I've ever stayed in !!…
Stay anywhere else. Rooms directly above loud thumping music on until very late at night so no chance of sleep. Rooms were dirty and had yellow stains on the walls (see pictures). Bathroom had broken mirror and broken tap. Bed extremely uncomfortable. You'd be better off camping.
Bedrooms were clean and tidy, wardrobe needed painting again, internet by FB sign up 😟, Continental breakfast was so poor, not enough choices and ran out of food quickly. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
We have been many times for a meal here. Enjoyed it every time. Helpful chatty staff make u feel comfortable and the food is delicious. Sunday roast are amazing. Recommend this lovely place !!! We will be coming back :)
From a very courteous early check in to check out we couldn't fault it. Nice clean room and bathroom. All of the staff that we met were very nice and a complimentary continental breakfast. If we were in the area again would definitely stay here.
There was No internet, you were required to provide Facebook or Twitter account details, there was mould in shower. I was At bar for five minutes before a member of staff came to offer service. Staff there and nobody asked if I needed anything.
The food was good, and being a real ale drinker, I was pleased to see four real ales on the bar, even though they were from bigger breweries; unfortunately all of them didn't taste that great, so one wonders how well they are kept. Shame the Pump It Up opposite wasn't open on the evening we were in Belper, or would have gone there.
