4 of us went for a meal after walking around derwent reservoir. 3 of us had beef pie with vegetables and chips. It was delicious, proper pastry and lots of meat. Gammon looked great too, seating out front was full as it was a nice day. Only gripe was bar staff shouting loudly to the kitchen asking about the menu...

We are staying here for my birthday St Patrick's Day. Had meals when passing prior to this and the food is excellent. Staff friendly and nothing any trouble so we decided to stay. Tomorrow we are planning to do the 6 mile walk round Ladybower Reservoir hoping to use up some of the calories after the fantastic breakfast. We have...

We had a family room. Good size, and very peaceful. Shower pressure can be a bit low, but not a major issue. Breakfast was great and set you up well for a day of walking. Evening meals were good and varied, with very quick service. All staff were pleasant and unobtrusive. A good place to stay.

Lovely pub overlooking the reservoir where there would be plenty of walks. We ate here twice once for lunch where we had a sandwich, good size portion. The other was for an evening meal. Staff friendly and efficient. Dog friendly. I had the pie which was tasty and my husband had steak which was cooked well. Extensive menu and the...

We stayed the night and found our loo did not work, the excellent young chap behind the bar gave us instructions and knocked £10 off the bill. However it overflowed all night making a din. There is a skylight in the room that we didn't realise had no blind. So you are awakened first light with a shaft of sunlight...

We've wanted to visit for a little while and stopped in for a coffee after a walk last weekend. Although the coffee & scones we had were nice, the staff member who served us was quite rude. We asked if we could have a cream tea but with coffee instead of tea and when there was some confusion about what...
