Fantastic weekend break. This was our 4th visit and once again we were delighted. Check in was effortless and we were greeted by the ever friendly and polite Elliot. Room was wonderful, recently refurbished to a high standard. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was superb. Breakfast each morning was also perfect with plenty of choice. Obviously no self service due to Covid protocols but if you wanted more of anything, you only had to ask. Beautiful location, very friendly staff, including the owners and a perfect base to explore the lakes or the coast. We had a wonderful time again and look forward to returning later in the year.
About 30 minutes easy drive from Keswick. Set next to beautiful farmland with highland cattle, cows and sheep. Nice comfortable room. Lovely quiet hotel. Outdoor space for drinks. Nice breakfast. I would return. It was my first night away with my young dog. The staff were lovely with her and gave her lots of fuss and treats which she loved! Thank you. Just a quick suggestion but it might be worth having a quick paper or email guide to bringing dogs as a few bits of info would have been handy: Where to put poo bags as the bins weren't obvious. How to take them out for a wee in the night as the front door was locked. Where you can eat with them. It might also be handy to have bowls, blankets, a crate etc available to hire to save having to bring them. I would definitely come back though. A lovely area of the country and the staff were fantastic. …
My husband and I have just returned from another great stay at this super friendly hotel. The owners and the staff have to be some of the best in the business. In these difficult times everything that can be done to assure the safety of visitors is being done. Tables are at regulation distance, sanitizer everywhere and staff take you to your table then table service only is adhered to. The food is amazing, we had lunch with relatives after arriving then had evening meal the next day. Both were superb. Breakfast, I had ham and poached eggs, Oh my word gorgeous, husband had full English, yummy. Seeing the room numbers on the web is good as you can ring and book which one you want. Great views from rooms. All that's left to say is thank you all again for a great stay. .
Good: Staff were lovely Bed was comfy Food was delicious Lots to do within a relatively short drive Hygiene was great, tables are all socially distanced Bad: Paper thin walls Surrounded by farms, nowhere to walk without driving. Some plumbing issues
Stayed for 2 nights. Friendly, pleasant staff . The hotel is comfortable though looks a bit shabby in places in general could do a bit tlc and refurbishment. Our room was comfortable although I don't think it had been cleaned to a very high standard especially in light of covid guidelines. Cobwebs around the window and cake under the bed obviously hadn't been vacuumed. There was no assurance of covid guidelines being followed other hotels have stripped out things like multi use toiletries and tea making facilities have cleared and sealed remote controls. I had taken my own spray disinfectant so cleaned the surfaces in the room . On a plus the food was excellent good portions well presented and hot.
