Me and my husband have just got back from a one night stay with dinner....... This is a family run hotel....on arrival we checked in at the bar the lady was very polite and helpful. She showed us to our room which had a lovely view. The furniture, bathroom and corridors all look dated however this adds to the feel...

We booked a couple of nights in this delightful hotel for our wedding anniversary. The rooms are clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant on our first evening and the food was top class, well presented and very reasonably priced. The breakfast is wonderful, and set us up for our day out in Carlisle. The owners,...

I booked to stay here whilst working in Silloth. It was the best price in the area and close by and other reviews seemed to suggest it would be ok. Arrived and was given a lovely warm welcome, moved to a ground floor room without any hassle and generally made to feel like a customer not a number. My room...

I, family members and friends have been at all times day and night to this Restaurant . We've had special birthday celebrations, Sunday Lunches, evening and lunchtime meals. Never had any reason whatsoever to complain. The food is freshly cooked, and provided it isn't too busy the chef happily adds/changes things to your liking. The service is always with a...

The starters were excellent. However the main course was at best average the beef almost appeared processed, the veg was mixed up with onion & oily, some mashed potato with a...

Visited for first time for a Christmas Lunch with local Parkinson's Soc members (about 50). The service, cleanliness and decor was excellent and the hotel was warm and inviting. The beautifully cooked and presented turkey main course was excellent, - the only dissappointment was the trifle that followed - watery unsweet custard on bland sponge - oh yes, one small...

I think we were just unlucky with our stay, we were visiting the area for a family funeral so the general theme of the couple of days wasn't good to be fair. Room, although spacious and clean was quite dark and depressing and noisy. Our evening meal was excellent and loads of it, sadly we couldn't manage a dessert. I'm...

Friendly atmosphere, good food, nice bar and beer, quiet country location. Very enjoyable relaxing stay. Good base to explore Cumbria coast and Carlisle and Lakeland. Good stop off if travelling between England and Scotland.
