Visited here for a joint leaving do. We were placed into the large dining room part and ti was ideal as it kept us out of the way whilst we ate. The food was lovely, hot and well presented and very large portions. Always look forward to eating here as there is a very good selection and the food has...

As fairly frequent visitors to this hotel for lunch or an evening meal, we always find the Waverley welcoming, homely and receive great service. The building is one of the oldest in Whitehaven, the Georgian port by the English Lakes and has an atmosphere to suit this fine historical tradition. There is an excellent, extensive and good value menu of...

My recent stay at the Waverley was a lovely experience. The family owned hotel was so welcoming and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The rooms are lovely and comfy and the breakfast was 2nd to none. The menu was so extensive and what I had was delicious. The fact that the restaurant serving and bar were packed...

Parking is dreadful, Barely room for 8 cars, preferably mini size. The smaller the better. If you arrive on time and the owners relatives are not hogging all the spaces. Could not lock my door. Presumaly fixed by now.. As a single be prepared for the worst of rooms. GRIM/facing a wall, dreadful., Bed was good as were the simple extras....

Dear Fiona, Thank you very much for your review; all comments are greatly appreciated and well noted. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast, the bed was comfy and that our staff were helpful and tried to ensure your stay was pleasant. As a town centre hotel our parking is indeed minimal and can be tight; unfortunately...

The rooms are very dated. The bed i slept in was so uncomfortable felt like the springs were going to go through the bed. The food was good. The wimdows were rattlingduring the night. There was no place in the bathroom to put any toiletries. I most definitely wont be recommending this to anyone to stay at!

A big thank you to all at the Waverley Hotel. We had a family gathering to celebrate an 18th Birthday. We had a dining room all to ourselves and because we pre-ordered the food, it arrived a few minutes after we arrived. The food was hot, well prepared and there was plenty of it. The staff were efficient and friendly....
