The room was very clean and tidy, amazing huge bed with many pillows, there was quite so I had a good rest.Friendly stuff and good breakfast, because everything was like at home, You can just take some food from the fridge when ever you want. The Bistro part of the business closed in 2016 and (from talking with Lulu) isn't going to restart. It now runs as a guest house. We stayed in the two-room apartment at the top of the house. Double bed in one room and sofa bed in the other. Everything was fine and Lulu was friendly and helpful and made sure...

My husband and I completed the Coast to Coast walk last week and we stayed at Lulu's the night before we began. The room was very comfortable and clean, although small, but Louisa's hospitality and helpfulness were big. The breakfast and packed lunch were wonderful. It is situated at the train station and a 10 min walk to the starting...

Our party of 4 stayed here for one night at the beginning of the 192 mile Coast to Coast walk across England. Short taxi ride from the train station, and we were greeted with warm smiles and an abundant afternoon tea and treats. The room was small but adequate. The hotel is a short walk from a couple of pubs...

Anyone tired of B&B and pub accommodation will find Lulu's Bistro a delightful change. There was a friendly welcome, the room and bathroom were perfectly adequate, and downstairs the bistro has some informal seating to sip drinks while perusing the menu. The restaurant itself is excellent, fine food and slick service. The continental breakfast included in the B&B price is...

Great location for our first night on Wainwright’s Coast To Coast Path. Stepped off the train from Carlisle, and straight into our B&B. Our room overlooked the railway platform, but hardly heard the trains at all. Tiny bathroom, but a good-sized shower. The continental breakfast was good and included seasonal fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries; a nice touch. Good value,...

An interesting place to stay with plenty of history, however, the Northern Belle room we had was quite cramped. Even more so was the dining room outside where people had to keep moving their chairs so others could get cereal. Trains don't generally run overnight, so sleep is uninterrupted in a comfortable bed and it was great getting off the...

We kicked off our Coast to Coast walk at LuLu's and while the restaurant wasn't open the night we stayed we greeted warmly on our arrival with tea and homemade scones. Our room was simple and comfortable, the wifi fast and the trains don't run at night which means we had peace and quiet. Breakfast was filling and excellent, a...
